🛡𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐂𝐄𝐏𝐓 𝐇𝐃: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 (𝐃𝐆𝐀) 𝐞𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐀𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬. 🏆We are proud to announce that the DGA has renewed its trust in the teams at Airbus Defence and Space with the signing of an amendment to the COPERNIC contract. This amendment formalises upgrades to the COMCEPT secure communications system, addressing the increasing need from armed forces for reliable, low-latency, high-throughput connectivity, anytime and anywhere. COMCEPT HD will provide secure access to LEO, MEO and GEO constellations, while also enabling the orchestration of SATCOM flows through the "Constellation Access Portal." Deployment of these new capabilities will begin incrementally and annually in 2026. These new features will enable the French Armed Forces to implement multi-orbit terminals, greatly enhancing their satellite connectivity capabilities.

In order to successfully accomplish this major challenge, this ambitious project mobilised the expertise of multiple Airbus entities. Thanks to their hard work and Airbus internal investment, we are able to open up 18 new UHF SatCom communication channels, providing crucial services to the armed forces of NATO. 🚢𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬🛰 Sea trials concluding the deployment of new features for the secure communications system COMCEPT on an aircraft carrier were successfully completed. These trials represent an important first step towards achieving all-weather, all-location connectivity, providing the high throughput and low latency essential for the operations of the French Armed Forces, particularly the Navy. Thanks to the work carried out by the Airbus teams and under the supervision of the Directorate General of Armaments (DGA), the COMCEPT system deployed on the aircraft carrier has been enhanced with a multi-orbit SATCOM terminal. This upgrade enables simultaneous and secure access to LEO, MEO, and GEO constellations, with throughput reaching up to 200 Mb/s. These new features are already planned for deployment on a significant number of naval vessels. 🏆 Airbus is proud to collaborate with key industry partners to develop the future of 5G. We’re working on a multi domain solution which allows users to remain connected even thousands of kilometres away from a #5G antenna of a mobile operator.   With the support of Bpifrance, the Air!5G project has been designated under the "Microelectronics and Communication" category of the Important Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEI) initiative launched by the European Commission.   The aim is to enable the development of 5G communications deployable in areas without coverage of mobile operator networks within the next three years.
