Our project at Beeston Methodist Church has officially started on site! The church is a historic, distinctive and valued landmark in the local area. A key aim of this project is to make the worship space more adaptable and accessible to support, not only the present congregational needs, but also to grow its ability to accommodate a wide range of community events. This will be achieved through the removal of fixed pews and remodelling of the existing balconies and organ platform to create an open plan space which can be versatile for a greater range of events. As part of the Eco-Church Network, BMC are also committed to reducing its carbon footprint and other energy costs. For this project this will be achieved through the installation of a range of new mechanical and electrical systems in addition to improvements of the existing buildings fabric. #Architecture #StartOnSite #GrearDesignMatters

Project Update! Following our fantastic news about planning permission being granted for our supported housing project in Old Basford to support homeless men, we wanted to share an update on its counterpart scheme in Bestwood. The project for Framework Charity will provide accommodation for women, with 15 much-needed supported living studios, as well as training and staff facilities. The accommodation is nearing completion and is on track to be finished on site in March. We are particularly pleased that as part of the scheme, we were able to retain a large amount open space, which once landscaped, will provide private outdoor space for residents to enjoy. Planning Permission Granted! Our latest scheme for Framework Charity in Nottingham has received planning permission. The project provides 20 supported living studio flats for homeless men as part of the transition from hostel accommodation. The flats have their own kitchenettes and bathrooms giving residents independence with staff on hand to provide 24/7 support. The brownfield site in Old Basford is currently occupied by a number of undistinguished factory buildings which have been vacant for some time. Our design incorporates design cues from neighbouring buildings and reflects the industrial heritage of the site and surrounding area. #Architecture #GreatDesignMatters #PlanningPermission #PlanningPermissionGranted

Absolutely fantastic news for AJA and Bourne Town Hall Trust! We cannot wait to progress with the scheme at Bourne Old Town Hall thanks to the support of The National Lottery Heritage Fund! #Architecture #GreatDesignMatters #Heritage #Conservation #NationalLotteryHeritageFund
Bourne Town Hall Trust have been awarded £3.3 million by The National Lottery Heritage Fund to restore and transform the Old Town Hall into a vibrant and inclusive community arts venue. Our design will involve a schedule of vital conservation repairs, removal of insensitive modern interventions and reinstatement of the clock tower alongside sensitive alterations to improve accessibility, sustainability, theatrical and hospitality uses and interpretation. I am so grateful to the National Lottery for allowing this dream to become reality and to the neverending dedication and enthusiasm of the Bourne Town Hall Trust trustees and volunteers who embody community spirit. Kudos to Olena Tsymbaliuk for being my super sidekick, can't wait to get started.
