Allen & Heath is a UK based designer of digital and analogue audio mixing consoles for live sound, AV, installation, recording and DJs. Allen & Heath was in the vanguard of the first wave of great British mixer companies, starting life at the heart of London’s swinging music scene in 1969. In those early days Allen & Heath hand-built mixers for the top bands of the era, including Genesis, Pink Floyd and The Who. Today’s Allen & Heath range is used and loved by bands, rental companies, installers, houses of worship, DJs, clubs, broadcasters and studios in virtually every country across the globe. We design and specify all our mixers here at our headquarters in beautiful Cornwall, UK. In TPi Magazine #283, Anthony Evans and Nic Beretta delve into the release of Allen & Heath’s V2 firmware and RackUltraFX card – ushering in a new era of integrated creative effects and advanced workflow features. The duo state that several sound engineers have taken on the V2 midway through a tour with several more opting for the system for their latest production rehearsals. “Jared Daly who looks after Bring Me The Horizon has now moved over to V2 and has stated that it has changed the way he mixes. In late April the Paris Jazz Quintet, one of the most revered names in French contemporary jazz, delivered an unforgettable performance at Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing. Chinese AV solutions provider EZPro was tasked with supplying the sound system for the concert and deployed an Avantis Solo mixer to handle FOH and monitors simultaneously. This was partnered onstage with a GX4816 remote audio expander. Reflecting on the experience, the sound engineer praised the system: "The Avantis Solo may be compact, but it packs a punch with its outstanding sound quality and user-friendly design.
