Lord Darzi has revealed the extent of the problems being faced by the NHS largely due to ever increasing demands on its services as chronic disease rates spiral in the UK (and elsewhere). The ANH recognised these problems many years ago and in 2018 we published our Blueprint for sustainable healthcare, which sets out a framework for a health system that works to prevent the manifestation of disease by maintaining health and wellbeing by tackling on the cause of the cause of the cause, upstream. Rather than overhauling the NHS and throwing billions of £s at the problem we need to be looking at how we can create a system that focuses not on disease, but on optimising health. https://lnkd.in/ex9f2QE7
