Over recent days I have been shocked and horrified to witness the violence and evidence of racism and Islamophobia in so many places around the country. I stand in solidarity with all the communities who have faced terror, intimidation or trauma and who now feel less safe. But I refuse to let those who resort to violence have the loudest voice. I know that as a nation we can be so much better than this. As a Christian organisation Andrews Charitable Trust has always been on the side of love, connection, compassion, inclusion and equality. Let’s give voices to those who remain hopeful and true to these values.

We are very proud to support Hope into Action UK as they continue to expand their work, supporting local initiatives responding to the homelessness crisis; with an impressive 17 new homes up and running in the last year! wow! I urge you to listen to this short video about them..... Looking forward to visiting one of their local projects in the west country soon with Kelly Hall ......

Speaking Volumes was set up as a passion project of our founder, Cecil Jackson Cole. It aims to make sure accessible Christian books are accessible first people to borrow, especially at times of need or distress.

Another thank you to Jon Kuhrt for my next book read! In his blog, Jon talks about Poor by Katriona O’Sullivan and how it highlights what poverty means in the UK today. Basically, if we ignore poverty of relationships and poverty of identity, we are failing. A few years back I read Alan Johnson's excellent auto-biography about growing up in working class London after the war. it was the strength of community and personal relationships that were the key to survival. Andrews Property Group have now finished tallying up all of their generous contributions to their recent fundraising activity and they are delighted to confirm that they have raised an incredible total of £8,216! This surpasses their original target by over £3,000. The funds raised will provide 14 deposits for [establish] tenants, enabling them to move into the private rental sector once their [establish] tenancy has finished, allowing them to live in secure, safe and stable homes 🏡 now and into the future. Great evening with Team South East Andrews Property Group celebrating their week of fundraising for our Establish project. Across the company they raised enough money to provide move-on deposits for at least 11 young tenants that we support. Amazing stuff.
