Throwing it back to last summer when we were commissioned by Elim Housing Association to bring life to one of their dilapidated buildings. To make it happen, we teamed up with the talented Tozer Signs to create this vibrant, hand-painted mural at Hathaway House in Kingsdown, right in the heart of Bristol. 🏡❤️ Featuring the Clifton Suspension Bridge, Bristol’s iconic hot air balloons, and ‘Welcome’ in multiple languages, this mural reflects the city’s rich history and diverse community. Designed to enhance the space, it also helps deter tagging while celebrating Bristol’s identity. 🎨✨ We love seeing how public art transforms places - have you spotted this mural in Bristol? Elim Housing's hospital discharge service were pleased to take part in the National Housing Federation's new case study research showing how supported housing can improve hospital discharge delays for the main groups of people affected by delays: people experiencing homelessness, older people, people with mental health problems and people with learning disabilities and autism. We know that having the right home at the right time for a patient's recovery can save the NHS money. With the NHS facing chronically oversubscribed waiting lists, delays for treatment and funding pressures, the research shows that supported housing can contribute to getting our NHS back on its feet. We are pleased to announce two new appointments to further support the delivery of our housing & support services. Nick and Geoff join us at an exciting time as we continue to meet housing need & deliver homes that change people’s lives. The appointments come after a review of Elim’s leadership structure, following the resignation of our Director of Housing Services in December 2024 after 13 years in post. Replacing this role are the two newly created Heads of Service posts, in a move which aims to ensure our leadership team is as effective as possible for Elim and all our customers. The scheme, Oldland Common, has been carefully designed to support 6 individuals with learning disabilities or autism and complex care needs to live in their own home, who may currently be in hospitals or be at risk of hospital admission, and has been developed jointly with South Gloucestershire Council, Bristol City Council, North Somerset Council, NHS England BNSSG ICB, Homes England and other stakeholders. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended our opening ceremonies and who have contributed to this schemes success, including the dedicated NOMA Architects, Naina Mandleker and Melhuish & Saunders Limited who have helped bring this project to life.
