At Angela Hamlin Health Care Professionals we understand the importance of health awareness and the role we play in supporting our clients and communities. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, with around 1 in 7 women diagnosed in their lifetime. While less common, it can also affect men, with approximately 370 men diagnosed each year. Raising awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection is critical, as it can greatly improve survival rates. Key Facts: * Every year, about 55,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK. * Early detection is vital—more than 90% of women diagnosed at the earliest stage of breast cancer survive for at least five years. * Regular mammograms and self-examinations can detect changes early, when treatment is more likely to be successful. How You Can Help: As care professionals, we have a unique position to encourage both colleagues and clients to be proactive about their health. Whether it’s offering advice on regular screenings or simply being a supportive listener, every small action counts. Encourage everyone to: * Perform regular self-examinations: Simple checks once a month can help spot any unusual changes. * Stay informed: Be aware of the signs and symptoms, such as changes in the size or shape of the breast, lumps, or changes to the skin, nipple, or armpit area. * Get routine screenings: Women aged 50-71 are invited for NHS breast screening every three years. Reminding clients and families about the importance of these checks can make a huge difference. Supporting Clients and Colleagues: If you are caring for someone undergoing breast cancer treatment, remember that emotional support can be just as important as physical care. Whether it’s helping with day-to-day activities or simply offering a listening ear, your compassion makes a big impact. For more information, visit trusted resources like Breast Cancer Now or the NHS website, where you can find guidance on how to check for symptoms and access screening services. Together, let’s make Breast Cancer Awareness Month a time of education, support, and action. Your role as a care professional can be vital in helping to spread awareness and ensure early detection, which saves lives. #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #BreastCancerNow #EarlyDetection #CompassionateCare #DomiciliaryCare #AHHCP #AngelaHamlinHealthCareProfessionals

On October 6th, the AHHCP office team will be proudly taking part in the Alzheimer's Society's London Memory Walk, walking in memory of those we know and love who have been affected by Dementia. As a domiciliary care provider, we see first-hand the impact these conditions have on individuals and their families, and we’re committed to doing what we can to support this important cause. Each step we take on this journey is in honor of the people we’ve cared for, the families we've supported, and those whose lives have been touched by this currently incurable disease. We’re raising funds for the Alzheimer’s Society, a charity dedicated to improving care, providing support, and funding research to find a cure. If you would like to support us and help make a difference, please consider donating to our Just Giving page. Every contribution brings us one step closer to a world without dementia. #MemoryWalk #AlzheimersSociety #DementiaAwareness #Fundraising #AHHCP #WalkForACause #CareInTheCommunity #JustGiving #EndAlzheimers #AngelaHamlinHealthCareProfessionals Donate Here --> https://lnkd.in/e6hdPhss

At Angela Hamlin Health Care Professionals, our mission is to provide compassionate, high-quality care to our clients in the comfort of their own homes. This September is Sepsis Awareness Month, and our goal is to help raise awareness about Sepsis - a potentially life-threatening condition that claims over 11 million lives worldwide each year. What is Sepsis? Sepsis is the body’s extreme response to an infection. It occurs when an infection you already have triggers a chain reaction throughout your body. Without timely treatment, sepsis can lead to tissue damage, organ failure, and even death. Who is at Risk? Sepsis can affect anyone, but those at higher risk include the elderly, individuals with weakened immune systems, and those with chronic conditions like diabetes or kidney disease. In a domiciliary care setting, early recognition of sepsis is crucial. Know the Signs: * Slurred speech or confusion * Extreme shivering or muscle pain * Passing no urine (in a day) * Severe breathlessness * It feels like you’re going to die * Skin mottled or discolored Our caregivers are trained to recognise these symptoms and respond quickly, ensuring that our clients receive the urgent care they need. This month, we’re doubling down on our commitment to sepsis education and prevention. By staying informed and vigilant, we can protect those who are most vulnerable. Let’s work together to spread awareness and save lives. Every second counts. #SepsisAwareness #DomiciliaryCare #HomeCare #Healthcare #PatientSafety #SepsisPrevention #SepsisAwarenessMonth #AHHCP #AngelaHamlinHealthcareProfessionals
