There's one week to go until you're able to pop in to donate your unwanted winter coats as part of our 'Coats for Christmas' campaign. We'll be distributing all coats donated to the Stay Telford and Shropshire Supports Refugees charities to support the homeless and vulnerable people across Telford and Shropshire. We recently supported a learner whose dyslexia and mental health problems were creating a barrier to his education and employment prospects. Now with support from us here at ANTA he has gone on to gain qualifications and find work. If you’re struggling to find a job due to your mental health, or if you have learning difficulties or autism we can help. We can also support recent care leavers and those who are homeless. If you’re based in Telford and are over 18, our tailored 1-1 support programme can help you gain new skills, raise your confidence levels and become work ready. This year World Mental Health Day is shining a light on mental health in the workplace. However, we meet people every week whose mental health is a significant barrier to them finding employment in the first instance - and we want to help! Here at ANTA we currently have funding to support people in this position, to help them gain confidence and new skills, support with interviews and finding suitable employment. As Dyslexia Awareness Week begins, we’re sharing a story about one of our learners who has severe dyslexia, and how we supported him to gain his CSCS card and get closer to the job market. Darren from AC Landscapes & Treeworks UK Ltd. came to the ANTA offices yesterday to conduct interviews with some of our learners who have recently gained their CSCS cards with us. AC Landscapes have some great opportunities available with excellent training which is perfect for our entry level interviewees to gain new skills and experience.
