Some of you may know that this year I have faced some challenges. Challenges in business, personal and mentally. I believe that the best way to overcome challenges is to have something to focus healthy energy on so I joined the 100km challenge for The Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. I am pleased to say that I I achieved the 100km in the first 2 weeks of September and I have committed to completing 200km before the end of the month. Besides this being a great cause, helping children is something I am passionate about, I can not tell you how uplifting it has been for me personally. The support from friends & family is appreciated. Chipping away at the km’s has kept me focused and healthy both physically and mentally. In life we often find ourselves in a position where we may not understand why things are happening and it may seem as though there is no way out, my simple advice is to find something that you can make small but meaningful positive steps, within no time when you look back you will see the distance you have traveled from whatever your challenge may have been, you will be able to see new perspectives and possibly new opportunities will present themselves to you that you may have missed. We welcome and support any changes to the Mental Health Act which helps and empowers young people suffering from mental health challenges.

We're eager to see the details of how the government will improve mental health support for young people, Early intervention is key to helping young people before their mental health needs require the NHS to step in.

Attitudes towards mental health are slowly changing, but still, a lot of people approach it with this kind of attitude. We still have a long way to go to change the way we as a society talk about mental health. It's time we stop treating mental health as separate from overall health.
