We recently stepped away from our desks to enjoy our Autumn social, as a deserved reward for the teams ongoing hard work and efforts. We kicked things off with a few games of pool and drinks at the bar in our Bristol office, then headed to Flight Club for some friendly (but competitive!) darts. We showed varying levels of skill, but Annie Chapelton was unstoppable, earning the title of "Killer Queen"! The evening wrapped up with some delicious pizza and wine at Franco Manca, the perfect way to unwind and catch up with colleagues (in a less competitive manner!). We're now excited for the next event, the Apex Winter Olympics, where Rory McHugh will be defending his title!

In what seems like a flash, we've just celebrated the one year anniversary of our Apex Bristol office. Looking back over the year, we've extracted some key metrics that show just how far we've come in a short time: ◾ The team has grown from 1 to 4 people ◾ Projects in 8x sectors and 32x local authorities ◾ Contributing to the delivery of 5,000+ homes ◾ 5x promotion of local plan site allocations ◾ 1x expert witness to a legal case ◾ 2x team overnight trips and 7x social events ◾ 2x black tie dinners (as hosts) ◾ Lots of client coffees and lunches ◾ 52x office cake Wednesdays 🍰 and beer trolley Fridays 🍻 ◾ 1,000 pool balls potted (as a guess/exaggeration!) And here is a flavour of the type and scale of projects that we are proud to be supporting: ◾ Bristol Rovers FC stadium and training ground redevelopment plans ◾ Wrexham AFC stadium and academy expansion plans ◾ 1,500 homes at Woolavington, Bridgwater ◾ 1,300 homes, a 220-bed hotel and 30,000sqm office at Cardiff Peninsula ◾ Yatton Infant School redevelopment So a massive ‘thank you’ to our hard-working and talented team, and to all our wonderful industry clients and contacts who have supported us along the way. Our plan when we started in Bristol was to build a platform from which to kick-on in year two and beyond. We're absolutely delighted to announce that Sophie Donkin has been promoted to Transport Consultant.   This deserved accolade reflects the high quality of Sophie's work and contribution to Apex since joining us in 2022. She's an integral part of the team and a key part of our success. Congratulations from us all, Sophie!   We've also made some changes at Director level in light of our continuing growth, and to better reflect roles across the team. Rory McHugh will continue to lead our Bristol office and region as Director, whilst David Chapman becomes Managing Director, continuing to lead the Cardiff office and company as a whole.   In relation to this, David Chapman stated “The changes in our operational structure reflect our on-going growth and ambition to be the go-to transport consultancy across the Western Gateway region and beyond.
