#Bluetongue update: 139 BTV-3 cases have been confirmed within the Restricted Zone - which covers 21 counties in England, and a further 14 cases, including 2 cases in Wales were linked to moves from high-risk areas. While temperatures are lower, midges are still active and infected midges can still cause new infections if they take a blood meal. Livestock keepers must stay vigilant, report any suspicion of bluetongue immediately, follow the restrictions on animal & germinal product movements & only move animals when it’s absolutely necessary. Please check the bluetongue map, GOV.UK: https://lnkd.in/eT_swymC & GOV.WALES: https://lnkd.in/ertm8RDS for the latest info on BTV-3 restrictions, licences & vaccination. #livestockkeepers #livestock
