LinkedIn fam, big news! 🎉 (And I am super excited 🎉🎉🎉) My new course, Mastering Site Analysis Maps, is officially live! For architects, urban designers, and landscape professionals, site analysis maps are non-negotiable. They guide design decisions, communicate insights, and influence stakeholders. Yet, most maps? Too cluttered. Too confusing. Too dull. That’s why I created this course ⭢ to help you turn complex data into clear, compelling visuals that stand out. • If your curved text looks odd, read this. (Master this once, and you’ll never struggle again.) Text on a curve should feel natural, not forced. But if you’re: ❌ Placing each letter by hand (painfully slow and inconsistent) ❌ Warping text instead of using a path (hello, distortion) ❌ Forgetting to adjust baseline and spacing (uneven and awkward) …then you’re working harder than you need to. 🚀 Quick fix? Master the ‘Text on path’ tool in Illustrator. I’ve put together a quick tutorial to show you exactly how. 🎥 📌 Make sure to save it and share it with your tribe. P.S.: What’s one small tweak that made a big difference in your presentations? 💡 ___ 👋 Hey, I’m Vishakha Tiwari, an urban designer, a visual communication designer and the founder of Architecture Candy. • Still thinking site analysis is just a checkbox exercise? That might be the reason your design isn’t landing. A rough sketch, a few arrows, some labels and done. But is it really helping you? Your site analysis map is the first argument for your design. If it’s unclear, your concept has no foundation. 🔹 Why does it matter? 👉 Because architecture doesn’t exist in isolation. Every site has forces at play - climate, movement, views, history. A strong analysis captures these layers and reveals opportunities. But data alone won’t cut it. How you present it matters just as much as what you present. 🔹 What makes a great site analysis map? 👉 Clarity – A map that speaks for itself, no lengthy explanations needed. 👉 Hierarchy – Not all data is equal. Highlight what matters. 👉 Visual Appeal – A compelling map holds attention and builds trust in your design thinking. A well-crafted site analysis isn’t just for clients or jurors. It’s for you. It forces better decisions, sharper concepts, and stronger storytelling. P.S.: How do you approach site analysis in your projects? P.P.S.: Join the 'Site Maps Course' waitlist. Link in the comments.

  • In my architecture school, they taught us: “Fill the sheet.” But as I’ve grown, I’ve realised: White space is the real MVP. When you overcrowd a drawing, portfolio, or sheet: >You lose clarity. Important details are buried under visual noise, and the viewer feels overwhelmed. >You sacrifice hierarchy. Without space, everything shouts for attention. White space lets the key elements speak louder. >You reduce impact. Great design isn’t about how much you show, it’s about how well you guide the eye. The best drawings I’ve seen? The ones that breathe. ✅ Clean margins. ✅ Intentional spacing. ✅ Thoughtful composition. These subtle choices turn a cluttered sheet into a powerful statement. Portfolios are no different. When everything is crammed onto the page, it looks desperate - like you’re trying too hard to impress. But when you use white space strategically, it signals confidence. You’re saying, “This is enough.” So the next time you’re tempted to fill every inch, don’t. Leave room for the viewer to pause, focus, and admire. Because in design, what you don’t show is just as important as what you do. Agree or disagree? Let me know👇

  • Creating a portfolio can feel like a race against the clock. ⏳ You want to showcase your best work, but the pressure to finish quickly can easily make you lose track of the finer details. Rushing through the process doesn’t do justice to the effort you’ve put into your work. And creating something that speaks to your skills and personality, takes time. I remember the first time I created a portfolio. It was a mess - too much content, too little focus. But once I took a step back and thought about it more strategically, everything started to click. I stopped thinking about the finished product and focused on each individual piece that needed to come together. That shift helped me stay on track and avoid unnecessary stress. And that’s what I want for you. I’ve put together a simple framework that’ll help you streamline the process without sacrificing quality 📝✨. 📎 Checkout the attachment. So, the next time you’re in a rush, take a breath. Focus on what matters. And follow these simple steps to make sure you don’t just finish your portfolio, but finish it right. P.S.: What’s been your biggest challenge while creating a portfolio?🤔

  • What if silence was the loudest tool in architecture? Tadao Ando shows us how. His work isn’t loud. It doesn’t demand attention with extravagant forms or flashy materials. Instead, it draws you in - quietly, deliberately. I tried creating a portfolio in his style, and it was an eye-opener. The precision of his exposed concrete, the interplay of light and shadow, the stillness of his spaces - it all feels like poetry, carefully composed to evoke emotion. What struck me most was how his buildings slow you down. They make you notice the little things: 👉 The cool touch of concrete. 👉 The warmth of sunlight streaming through a gap. 👉 The way silence can echo. Ando’s work has inspired so many of us to see architecture differently. He creates experiences that connect us to something deeper. P.S.: Have you ever been in a space where the layout just clicked? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!

I thought I had it all figured out— But London proved me wrong. When I first moved to London for my master’s, I thought my portfolio was set. It had even secured me a spot in a prestigious master's program. But when it came to landing a job here? I hit a wall. Firm after firm, I sent out my portfolio. Weeks passed, and my inbox stayed empty. I told myself it was the market, maybe just a bad time. But, honestly? Deep down, I knew it wasn’t that. My portfolio just didn’t cut it on the international stage. So I got to work. I researched what top firms worldwide expected, took my old portfolio apart, and started over. My new goal was clear: build something that could hold its own globally. And it wasn’t a one-time fix—it took four portfolios over five years to get it right. By 2022, I finally crafted a portfolio that felt right. It wasn’t just about showcasing my skills; it was about presenting them in a way that aligned with international standards. Since then, I’ve kept it up-to-date with new projects and experiences. From job offers to master planning projects, this portfolio opened doors I hadn’t imagined—from the US to the UK, the Middle East, and back to India. Today, I’m sharing this because sometimes, the difference isn’t timing or luck—it’s adaptability. Building a career globally is a moving target, and the real work is in adjusting to standards you didn’t even know were there. So, if you’re not getting the responses you want, don’t just wait it out. Keep refining. Keep adapting. Because when your work is ready, the right opportunities will come.🚀✨ P.S.: What’s something you’ve had to adapt to in your career💡?

Visual communication can make or break a project. Yet, many architecture firms underestimate its power. I’ve seen it firsthand—brilliant designs falling flat because the ideas weren’t communicated effectively. Even the most skilled architects can struggle to bring their vision to life if they can’t express it clearly. That’s where the problem lies. Too many firms lack architects and designers who are skilled in both design and communication. Our tailored workshops solve this. We provide your team with the tools they need to master cutting-edge software and storytelling techniques that bring designs to life. My 2 cents- Invest in your team. 👉 It transforms concepts into compelling narratives. 👉It enhances client engagement and satisfaction. 👉It fosters innovation and creativity. Don’t let your firm blend in; help them shine.
