Last week we held our first breakfast briefing in the stunning Old Library at Lloyd’s. Thanks to everyone who attended and to our fantastic speakers, Cassandra Vukorep, Martin Burke, Paula Duplock, John Mason, Martin Reith and David King! We learned that: 1. Structured data places the industry in a stronger position to meet future business needs, even those we can't yet anticipate. This is especially crucial when addressing challenges like the impacts of climate change, geopolitical shifts, and ESG assessments in an increasingly uncertain world. 2. One of the key challenges in implementing digital transformation processes is still the need to change people's mindsets. Outdated working methods are often accepted in the insurance industry, but people who wouldn’t tolerate a slow phone or having to re-enter data across different web browsers in their personal life 3. Analogy of the day: "Every song in Western music is built from the same 12 notes. We need to identify our 12 data notes so that everyone within the industry is aligned and playing the same tune".
