With the summer in Europe coming to an end slowly, demand for alternative fuels continues to grow. Our bunker vessels “Avenir Ascension” and “Avenir Aspiration” continue to operate 24/7 to ensure the supply of LNG & bio-LNG for our marine customers in Northwest Europe. While we continue to serve our long-standing customers in Germany, Sweden, Lithuania, and Finland, we are also happy to welcome new clients, the latest addition being NEOT. As the first NEOT vessel, the chemical tanker “Tern Sea” received LNG from our bunker vessel “Avenir Aspiration” at Visby anchorage in front of Gotland. Kiitos for your trust in Avenir LNG and we are looking forward to more operations in the next months and years to come. #LNG #LNGasMarineFuel #bunkering #LNGbunkering #shipping #maritime-transport

Avenir starts bio-LNG supply to Destination Gotland Avenir LNG conducted the first bio-LNG delivery to Destination Gotland. The environmental-friendly fuel was delivered by Avenir’s bunker vessel “Avenir Aspiration” in the Port of Visby, Sweden. The ISCC-certified product was produced in Europe and loaded into Avenir’s bunker and transport vessel at the Port of Zeebrugge, Belgium. The replacement of fossil fuels with bio-LNG allows for a significant reduction of emissions resulting from the operations of the ferries. Marcus Risberg, CEO of Destination Gotland, was satisfied that the companies expanded their cooperation to make ferry operations on the Swedish East coast even more sustainable: “We are committed to provide comfortable and reliable transport services for our customers between the Swedish mainland and Gotland. The possibility to use bio-LNG ensures that we can provide our services in an even more sustainable way, thereby reducing the impact on the environment and population.” For the sourcing of the bio-LNG, Avenir cooperates with different biofuel traders with access to physical and mass-balanced bio-LNG at various European terminals and can provide tailor-made products and supply chains for its marine and industrial clients in Europe. Jonathan Quinn, Managing Director of Avenir LNG, commented: “As a leading supplier of small-scale LNG and owner of one of the largest global LNG bunker vessel fleets, we strive continuously to provide safe, reliable and efficient fuels whilst minimizing the environmental impact for our customers. Setting up new bio-LNG supply chains is at the core of our global growth strategy.” In 2022, Destination Gotland and Avenir signed a multi-year contract for the supply of LNG to the dual-fuel RoPax ferries “MS Gotland” and “MS Visby”. Since then, Avenir conducts up to 20 ship-to-ship LNG bunker operations per month in the Swedish ports Visby and Nynashamn. #lngbunkering #lngasmarinefuel #lbg #sustainableshipping

Avenir starts LNG bunkering service in Germany with the first operation in the Port of Lübeck On 5th of May, Avenir LNG conducted its first LNG ship-to-ship bunkering operation in Germany. The transfer of the chilled fuel from the “Avenir Aspiration” to the RoPax ferry “Nils Holgersson” was conducted in the Port of Lübeck. After an initial LNG & bio-LNG bunker operation conducted with trucks by Avenir in 2022, this event marked another milestone as the first STS LNG bunker operation in a German port. Jan Schubert, Commercial Director of LNG Bunkering for Avenir, stated that “our first successful STS bunker operation in a German port for our long-standing and trusted customer TT-Line proves again our leading position in setting up alternative fuel supply chains. Utilizing our fleet of five LNG bunker vessels, Avenir continues to ensure the security of supply for our customers globally. As part of that ambition, we are seeing our network of customers and ports to service continuing to grow across Northwest Europe throughout 2024.” For the execution of this operation, Avenir partnered up with the German LNG & bio-LNG distribution specialists from GasCom-Equipment GmbH. Norbert Scholz, Managing Director of GasCom, stated, “I am pleased to see how efficiently and smoothly the joint preparations and the execution of the bunker operation were done. The cooperation proved again how important coupling expertise from different specialists is for establishing supply infrastructure for alternative fuels in German ports. We are glad to be part of that and are looking forward to more jointly executed bunker operations in the future.” #lngbunkering #lngasmarinefuel #shipping

Today our two 7,500cbm sister vessels undertook a ship-to-ship (STS) operation at Visby Anchorage, Sweden. The photographs below, taken from Avenir Ascension, show the vessels alongside each other, as well as Avenir Aspiration’s approach. Utilizing the possibility of intra-company STS gives us additional flexibility to meet all inventory requirements, ensuring a safe and regular supply to our customers across a wide and varied geographic scope. Special thanks to our amazing crew headed by Captain Sven Forense & Captain Irfan Satria
