Sustainability. Everyone’s talking about it, but not everyone’s really doing it. Even fewer know how to talk about it properly. We’re serious about making real progress, not just slapping a 'green' label on things. Our team have been diving into isla's sustainability workshops, most recently learning how to cut the noise, avoid jargon, and communicate sustainability honestly. Here’s what we learned: Greenwashing is everywhere. Brands shout about their eco-friendly efforts while sweeping bad stuff under the rug. If you’re making progress, be honest, wins AND failures. Greenhushing is just as bad. Staying quiet because you’re scared of getting it wrong isn’t helping. Transparency builds trust. If you don’t have perfect data, say so. Then do better. Speaking of data, before shouting any big claims, ask yourself: How did we collect this data? Where are the gaps? Can we back this up? How to talk about sustainability without sounding like a corporate robot: 1️⃣ Know your audience - different people care about different things 2️⃣ Give actions 3️⃣ Tell real stories 4️⃣ Make it visual 5️⃣ Stick to your TOV and be specific Has your brand nailed its sustainability communications? #sustainability #greenwashing #eventsindustry #corporatecommunication

Societal shifts are happening FAST, and our industry needs to adapt. Experiential needs to have meaning. Sustainability isn’t a “trend”. Inclusivity is non-negotiable. Consumers aren’t buying the bullsh*t anymore. If brands don’t evolve with the cultural shifts that are happening, they’ll get left behind faster than you can say greenwashing. A fully immersive, high-stakes show where audiences become the story. Crack codes, dodge lasers, don the red jumpsuit and escape with the loot... if you can. Thrifty Kitten and Producer, Amber Gilbert-Taylor, just spent a few days in New York for M&I Brooklyn - networking, learning, and bagel-making. Not only did she sit in on industry keynotes, and ace Speed Dating-esque meetings with American suppliers, she also bagged the Best Buyer Newcomer Award! 👑 And although Amber's being a bit modest, she was hailed best bagel maker at her masterclass. We've yet to taste test these skills in the office *hint hint*.
