It's World Mental Health Day 🌎 and it's time to start prioritising young adult's mental health in the workplace. The transition from school, sixth form, or college to the workplace can be overwhelming, especially for young adults already experiencing a mental health disorder. Young adults are the most vulnerable demographic in the workplace, with workers aged 18 to 29 less likely to disclose mental health problems to employers. The UK government, employers, and representative organisations must continue working together to create policies that prevent mental health risks, promote well-being, and build supportive workplaces where mental health is prioritised, especially for young adults. #WorldMentalHealthDay2024 #BeingWellCharity

We are proud to share that Being Well has received a second round of grant funding in collaboration with Community Foundation for Surrey. Grants, alongside our fundraising efforts, help us take a step closer towards our mission – to improve awareness and understanding of mental health and wellbeing in schools and sixth forms. By increasing knowledge, reducing stigma, and offering guidance, we believe that students, parents, and teachers can achieve a more open-minded community. The £5,000 grant will continue to fund the Service Developer and Delivery Officer role for the next academic year. These additions will be instrumental in the delivery of our educational workshop programmes in secondary schools, sixth forms, and colleges in Surrey. #grant #charity #mentalhealth #wellbeing #education #surrey

My good friend Matt Payne is doing Ride London for Being Well! Being Well are a small charity based in Surrey, whose mission is to provide education to improve wellbeing and mental health in schools and colleges, empowering students, parents and teachers to create a more open-minded environment. They increase knowledge and reduce stigma through their workshop programmes, and offer additional guidance and support through website resources and podcasts. Being Well was created by young people for young people, and every £1 raised will help us spread our support further. Please support him if you're able to, it will be a long 100 miles 😁 Ollie Barella Charlie Metcalfe Molly Pinckston #mentalhealth #education #ridelondon

Today we are celebrating 4 years as a registered charity! Over these past years we have grown, reaching more students through our workshop programmes and online resource signposting but our vision has remained the same: “to provide education to improve the awareness and understanding of wellbeing and mental health in secondary schools, sixth forms and colleges, empowering students, parents and teachers to create a more open-minded environment.” We look to achieve this mission through the following goals: - Increasing knowledge about how to maintain good mental health and wellbeing. - Reducing stigma surrounding mental health difficulties. - Offering guidance about how to access mental health support. We would like to thank our volunteers who have committed their time and everyone who has supported us through fundraising and donations. Keep an eye on our socials to see what is to come over the next year! #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #charity #wellbeing #education #studentmentalhealth #surrey #sixthform #volunteers

We are seeking funding to run our mental health workshop programmes in sixth forms and colleges in Surrey, for the 2024-2025 academic year! We offer workshops to 16–18 year olds which are facilitated by local young people living in Surrey who are passionate about promoting positive mental health and wellbeing. The aim of our workshop programme is to increase knowledge about mental health, promote resilience in students, and reduce stigma surrounding mental health difficulties. Our work addresses a gap in Surrey for mental health education in young people aged 16-18 who are finishing their schooling. We recognise that young people require knowledge and skills to maintain positive mental health and wellbeing throughout the transition into adulthood. Based on feedback from students and staff, we have created engaging and empowering content, delivered by volunteers with lived experience sharing their personal journeys of recovery. We support young people to thrive through effective prevention, promotion, and provision of mental health education. Any support in liking and sharing this post or contributing in any way, would be greatly appreciated. Together, we can make a positive impact! https://lnkd.in/eRVac2c5
