We love our robots. And we know that soldering is a critical component of the electronic assembly process. Our sister company Vanilla Electronics Limited has invested heavily in robotic soldering. We'd love to chat to you about it.... Why? Because robotic soldering offers a number of real benefits over traditional manual soldering. Soldering robots are faster and more accurate than manual soldering. And as components get smaller, and printed circuit boards (PCBs) seem more densely packed with components, it’s more likely that projects using traditional manual soldering processes may be incorrectly soldered or missed altogether. Added to that, errors when soldering manually are inconsistent and difficult to detect. Once a robot has been programmed to a certain path and quality level, it will repeat it exactly, soldering each join precisely and never missing one. If errors ever do occur, they can easily be corrected through simple reprogramming. And with human errors and mistakes taken out of the mix, obviously fewer defects will be found, notably decreasing the amount of rework needed and increasing the throughput.
