🔴🟡 According to official statistics released today, the number of registered company insolvencies in England and Wales in June 2024 was 2,361, 16% higher than in May 2024 and 17% higher when compared to figures from June 2023. 🔊 Following Labour's victory at yesterday's General Election, Theo Chatha, Chief Financial Officer at BFS, shares his thoughts on the support SMEs require from the new Government, starting with the Bank Referral Scheme. 🔴🟡 "We were encouraged to see Labour commit to strengthening the British Business Bank’s Bank Referral Scheme in January. 🔴🟡 Women-led businesses often face greater hurdles in securing the necessary funding to grow and thrive. 💰 Findings from the Rose Review suggest £250bn in total value could be added to the UK economy alone if women matched men in starting and scaling a business.
