The Earthshot Prize, founded by HRH Prince William, brings together innovators to tackle the consequences of climate change through optimism and action. We were honoured to join the Earthshot Innovation Camp alongside fascinating people who are putting their minds to unearthing radical climate solutions. As part of London Climate Action Week, the camp featured a week of generative events, a fascinating trip to Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and the chance to have some interesting discussions about the future of biotechnologies and mycelium. Biohm’s Founder and Chief Evolution Officer, Dr Ehab Sayed, met Mike Bloomberg, the founder of Bloomberg Philanthropies, and other investors, innovators, and experts to discuss how collaboration can support our journeys to scalable solutions. Biotechnology Research
Nothing is ever-lasting. Everything is ever-changing. We do not design. We refine what nature has given us.
About us
Biohm is a multi-award winning research and development led company that is harmonising cultural and natural systems through the development and scaling of ground-breaking biotechnologies. Driven by the simple philosophy of allowing nature to lead innovation, Biohm redefines biomimicry as the holistic and systemic emulation of the multitudinous hierarchical systems in nature (the whole universe) to create intelligent solutions that are glocally situated, socially connected, and sensitive to the cybernetics and energetics of their environment. Biohm's biotechnologies, which are patented in almost 60 countries, are being developed into high-performance materials, products and systems for leading multinationals and global players to deliver at scale. Biohm is working towards revolutionising economies to secure the future of humanity without impeding other species' evolutionary pathways - a march toward biosynergy.

Huge news! Biohm is now officially a certified B Corporation! For us B-Corp represents an ecosystem of organisations who are consciously thinking about impact and consequences and building a world where businesses actively restore and uplift ecological and human systems. True biomimicry requires us to venture away from creating isolated products and towards creating systemic solutions that holistically address complex challenges. This forces us to become obsessed with the problem we are tackling and curiously dive deep into the nuanced context that surrounds it. Still, our established value systems and economies make positive impact difficult so we must always push beyond accreditation and what this system deems possible to build a world where regenerative impact is possible on a global scale. We owe the biggest gratitude to our incredible team - their unwavering commitment to building a world where regenerative impact is possible is Biohm’s life force. Watch this space!

As we enter the new stage of our biorevolution, we have paused to reflect on our journey so far, the individuals that have shaped Biohm, and whether traditional investment models would have ever worked for businesses like ours. Dr Ehab Sayed discusses the importance of identifying and onboarding aligned investors and how we can intentionally and effectively manage our finance flows to achieve industrial transformations and support the biorevolution. Let us know what you think below! https://lnkd.in/dwPrQyzj

Can our deep past help us secure our future? 🌍 For the next week or so, I’ll be in Boston for TEDxBoston's Planet Action events at MIT to discuss how learnings from 14 billion years of evolution may help us solve any problem we face and reconnect our societies, economies, and industries with nature's cosmic laws 💫 Although BIOHM is often associated with biomimetic futurism, we're actually pretty past obsessed. Watch this space for some exciting announcements on how that shapes our biotechnologies and offerings at Biohm 🚀 I’m looking forward to seeing some familiar and new faces. If you’re in Boston, I’d love to connect. You can find out more here https://lnkd.in/eYKkEEEq or register here https://lnkd.in/emtdbpsW

Materials have shaped cultures and societies for eons. And while these are an intimate and constant presence in our daily lives, we are also inundated by toxic, cheap, allegedly "disposable" goods. A fundamental change is needed to make materials production and consumption truly sustainable. Join us for a panel discussion as part of the Planet Action Summit where researchers and innovators will discuss the ways they are looking to the natural world to seed the next generation of biomaterials. Our expert panelists join us from academia, industry, and the nonprofit sector: 🌱 Mickey McManus, Visiting Scholar, Tufts University, Senior Advisor and Leadership Coach, Boston Consulting Group (BCG) 🌱 Fiorenzo Omenetto, Frank C. Doble Professor of Engineering, Tufts University 🌱 Dr Ehab Sayed, Founder and Chief Evolution Officer, BIOHM 🌱 Beth Rattner, Former Executive Director, The Biomimicry Institute 🌱 Moderated by MIT Museum Director, Michael John Gorman November 16 1 -2:30pm Free with Museum admission This event is part of TEDxBoston's Planet Action Summit taking place at various locations across Boston and Cambridge from November 16-18. The MIT Museum is excited to be a Founding Action Partner of the Planet Action Summit. https://lnkd.in/egtU9spP
