BlackTree were thrilled to be able to support the Bristol Army Cadet team on their first entry of a 10-person team at the RAF 2-Day March at RAF Cosford. BlackTree Managing Director, Neil Clements' thoughts below: 'BlackTree are an advocate for encouraging young people to become involved in the Army Cadets. The Cadets provides a positive environment for fun, adventure and learning and gives those involved visibility of what a career in the Army could offer them. Some Cadets will go onto to have a fulfilling and rewarding Military career and the experiences they gain whilst in the Cadets can help shape them as individuals. Others will transfer the knowledge, skills and experiences gained whilst in the Cadets to build their future. As the cadets is a volunteer organisation, they are always looking for support from the Government, wider Industry and motivated individuals. BlackTree have supported this both through financial donations to the Army Cadet Charitable Trust UK and now, by providing much-needed equipment to help Bristol ACF compete in the RAF WARMA 2-day 50-mile march event. We wish them every success and look forward to continuing to support our Cadets.' We were honoured to be invited to The Rifles "Bugle Breakfast" last week, hosted by 6Bn at Gloucester Reserve Centre. We were given a fascinating insight into the history of the bugle, and how it has historically been used to provide co-ordination amidst the turmoil of battle. Thank you to The Rifles for the great spread, and the informative briefs from the team. Great to network and touch base with Emily Kadoch from Wessex RFCA who continues her great work in promoting the Armed Forces Covenant. #armedforcescovenant

Our MD, Neil Clements, attended an excellent event last night at Cheltenham Race Course, hosted by the Army Engagement Team. After an introduction by Col Matt Palmer (Commander HQ South West), the team gave an excellent and informative brief. Despite serving for 10 years, Neil had never heard their "pitch". It was well produced, informative and engaging. Whilst there, he had the opportunity to chat to some reservist soldiers from local units and understand how they play a key part in delivering capability for UK defence. Finally, he met with our local Armed Forces Covenant representatives. The AFC plays a key part in advocating for reservists, service leavers and their families. The AFC is a "promise" by the nation to ensure that those who serve, or have served, and their families are treated fairly. As an AFC Silver award holder, BlackTree believe that support for the Armed Forces Community is important - 60% of our staff are veterans. Veterans bring a diverse range of experience and skills and have a positive, professional attitude which perfectly compliments our Business. We would strongly recommend to all BlackTree followers that if you are not already engaged, you should be. Thanks again to the Army Engagement Team and everyone else who supported last night.
