Updates

  • Blue Triangle has today launched its new five year strategy, against the backdrop of a national housing emergency. The organisation will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2025, during which time Blue Triangle has expanded into ten local authorities. CEO Gary Meek said: “We have taken this opportunity to reflect on recent achievements, our previous aims, along with engaging our stakeholder groups including supported people, staff, committee members, and other partners to devise a roadmap that will enable us to meet the needs of all. This will enable us to deliver on our obligations as a Registered Social Landlord (RSL) and Social Care Provider." • Ramadan Mubarak from Blue Triangle! 🌙 Our Glasgow services have been celebrating this special month with our supported people, creating a welcoming and peaceful atmosphere.  From decorating the accommodation to receiving beautiful prayer mats and copies of the Quran in Arabic and English from the mosque, it’s been a time of reflection and community.  The food and drink shared—from Palestine to Sudan—has been delicious, with everyone coming together to enjoy and celebrate.  To all our supporters, we hope this Ramadan brings you peace, strength, and blessings. 💙

Today sees me 5,400 days sober and I’m a wee bit chuffed with that. I’m on a day off from my role as a support worker with Blue Triangle and I’m also free from any freelance filming and editing. So, I’m enjoying a decent workout to acknowledge my sobriety. Someone recently said to me that I should be careful about sharing my past issues with alcohol with others. They said it may give a negative impression of me. I disagree. Firstly, I don’t really care what others think of me. And anyway, their views are none of my business. But that aside, I found my own sobriety with the help of hearing from others who were walking the path of an alcohol free life. And so it makes sense for me to do the same, in the hope that those who are struggling with drinking can see that a sober life is possible. It’s that simple. Anyway, hope you’re all having a great start to the week and wish me luck, because up next is a two hour indoor bike ride which I think will destroy me!
