It has been a delicious few weeks at BMI UK&I, as teams across the country came together for the Macmillan Coffee Morning. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone involved in making the event a huge success. Looking through the photos, it is heartwarming to see friends, colleagues, and families unite in the fight against Cancer. We couldn’t be prouder of each team’s efforts and are thrilled to announce that together, we raised over £1,600! A special mention goes to our Bedworth team for their extraordinary contribution of £700 and to our Rassau team for their thoughtful gesture of donating leftover cakes to a local nursing home, ensuring nothing went to waste. Water ingress, standing water, blistering and the presence of algae meant that urgent remedial work needed to be carried out on the roof of the John Lewis store in Kingston-upon-Thames. We worked closely with contractor UK-RTL Group to come up with a solution that ensured long-term reliable performance. We were incredibly sad to learn that Chantel Daniels passed away from cancer last week. Chantel was a finalist in our Apprentice of the Year 2022 competition and went on to encourage young people into construction through SkillsBuild. Many of our team got to know her and appreciate the hard work, passion and personality she brought to her role. It was a pleasure to know her and our thoughts go out to her family and friends.  "I feel like I have found a trade that I absolutely love and being a woman in a mostly male-populated environment has made me feel empowered and want to succeed to show other young women they can do whatever they dream to do too." https://lnkd.in/exWYjKFi

Saturation and blistering issues on the roof of a Waitrose store meant that immediate action had to be taken to ensure there were no leaks in the building. The project had its challenges, including tricky access and the fact the store had to remain open, so we worked closely with contractor UK-RTL Group to deliver a solution that would maintain a safe environment for customers and business as usual for the retailer. The UK Government recently announced a number of actions to encourage the development of brownfield land, as part of its long-term plans for housing. Copper Beech View, a brand-new housing development in Gloucestershire, is an example of this vision in action. With Redland Mini Stonewold tiles, contractor BICESTER ROOFING and housing developers Ede Homes Ltd collaborated to create 39 new family homes, transforming previously overlooked land into a thriving community.
