Last month our General Director, Kang-San Tan, attended the Fourth Lausanne Congress on World Evangelisation. Thousands of Christian leaders gathered in South Korea to talk about the future of global mission. “I was encouraged that Lausanne 4 brought together over 5,200 Christians to listen to the stories of the Global Church and how everyone can participate in God’s mission,” said Kang-San. “There were emphases on Christian witness in the workplace, younger generation leadership and the increased role of Majority World Christians.” Kang-San also enjoyed the welcome he received from Korean Baptist churches! 👏 ❤️ “During the conference, about 30 Baptist leaders were hosted by the Korean Foreign Baptist Mission for a lovely lunch!” he said.

About us
BMS World Mission mobilises people, resources and skills across the Global Church to share the good news of Jesus and practical hope where they’re needed most. We work hand-in-hand with global organisations, mission workers and supporters to: ✝️ share Christ and nurture disciples ⚖️ alleviate suffering and injustice 🌏 enable all God’s people to play their part in his mission Since our founding in 1792, God has worked through BMS supporters, partners and workers to save and transform lives. We’re over 230 years old, and our Baptist history has laid a rich foundation from which we still learn, grow and take inspiration today. We believe that every follower of Jesus has a calling to mission, including you. Together, we're working for a world where all can experience faith in Christ and the abundant life only he provides.

Our legacy officer Lucy is going to be sharing about the relaunch of BMS’ free wills offering. It promises to be a fantastic webinar, not least because you’ll be hard pushed to find someone more passionate than Lucy.
📣 UPCOMING CHARITY WEBINAR: It's been a while since our last webinar in May, so I am excited to announce Octopus Legacy 's next webinar, as part of our Leg up for Legacies community on Wednesday 18th September at 11am - How to Launch a Successful Free Will Legacy Campaign! As we approach our big campaign launch on 2nd Sept, we thought we'd run a helpful webinar to give you all some fresh ideas and inspiration, on how to incorporate your free will offer through your planned activity in your next campaign period. Launching a free will legacy campaign is a strategic initiative to encourage your supporters to include a gift in their will. We will be joined by 3 guest speakers from different charities. They will discuss how they were able to launch an effective free will campaign and present ideas on how you can implement this in your strategy and through your legacy programme. As always this will be followed by a Q&A session for any of those burning questions. 🗣 Speakers will be announced in due course, but in the meantime sign up to secure your spot here! - https://lnkd.in/e_q6WZAP 🐙 Look forward to seeing you all there!

"Jesus has a vision. Jesus has a mission, and he speaks about two reasons why he came. He wants people to have life - not only just life, but also to have that life in abundance. And that's the holistic approach that we tend to speak about." Benon Kayanja joined BMS World Mission in 2013 as a mission worker in his home country of Uganda. This week he's visiting supporting churches in the UK to share about his work leading Justice Livelihoods Health (JLH) - BMS' partner in Uganda. He’s passionate about helping churches use their God-given local resources to transform communities, bringing hope from despair and opportunities from poverty. At JLH, he's part of a team advocating for the rights of women and children, helping farmers lift themselves out of poverty and inspiring churches to reach out to their neighbourhood in love. 👏

🚨 News Update from Bangladesh While riots have been going on throughout the United Kingdom, there have also been violent protests and clashes in Bangladesh. Protests over job quotas have led to violent clashes with police, leaving over 400 people dead. On Monday, after more protests, Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned, leaving the nation in political limbo. Two BMS mission workers work in Dhaka. They are currently safe but have shared the update pictured*. Please pray with all of us at BMS World Mission for tensions to dissolve in Bangladesh and the safe transfer of power to a new government. *The update can also be found in the alt text/image description.

Hi, I'm John Settatree. I recently joined BMS as the Church Engagement Manager. This means it is my job to help churches connect with BMS. This includes helping oversee connecting churches with Mission Partners and helping equip and coordinate our amazing speaker team including Mission Partner Workers on home assignment who visit Churches all over England, Scotland and Wales. I’m really excited to be part of an organisation that is working hard to hear as many voices in the world church as possible. I firmly believe that we as UK churches have so much to learn from Churches across the world where God is doing some incredible things. Outside of work I am a member of a local Baptist Church in Broadhaven, Pembrokeshire. I love spending time outdoors with my wife and four children exploring our beautiful countryside and beaches. If your church would like help to connect more with BMS, please get in touch: jsettatree@bmsworldmission.org or 01235517627.

This week, our Executive Director Team took some time out reflect on what's coming up for BMS World Mission. They checked in with the BMS vision and with how each department is helping to alleviate suffering and share the Word of God across the world. They also took time to look at what we provide to our global partners and people in mission, ensuring that we support them in a way that empowers and resources them to grow God's mission. Prayer and reflection are so important as we seek to ensure BMS can "go where the [Holy] Spirit is already working".

On Tuesday the BMS Communications Team had the pleasure of hosting Neighbourhood's Rosie and Dan for the whole day! The purpose? Unfortunately not to wile away the gorgeous sunshine with a picnic – though the chance was taken at lunch! Instead, Rosie and Dan came down to Didcot to help our Comms Team audit their social media and email strategies, processes and content. It was a fantastic day though with a few heated opinions at times (when isn't there if you put creatives in a room together?). Thanks Neighbourhood for a great, informative and challenging day!
