We are so grateful to Kaainat Khan and Darrell Green for championing this important research highlighting the life-long impact of primary bone cancer treatment and the need for ongoing, tailored support 🧡 #Research #UntilTheresACure
🗞️ Khan et al. 🗞️ I am ecstatic to share that I have published a paper on the "post-treatment late and long-term effects in bone sarcoma" for the internationally recognised Journal of Bone Oncology! This paper addresses the urgent need for follow-up care within the bone sarcoma community. I am incredibly grateful to Kathleen Kane and Zoe Davison from the Bone Cancer Research Trust for endorsing my investigative study on the subsequent effects of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery in patients’ post-treatment lives and for allowing me to interview survivors during my undergraduate research in order to make compelling evidence-based conclusions that anecdotally evidenced patients’ inconsistent follow-up care despite copious well-reported studies on these effects occurring decades after treatment. A special thanks to bone sarcoma expert, Dr Darrell Green, as this publication would not be possible without his endless support. Thank you for entrusting my expertise to perform a more in-depth scoping review of available scientific literature and advise on alternative shared care guidelines that address the supportive needs of patients with bone sarcoma. This publication is thanks to your guidance, insightful feedback and expertise throughout the drafting and amendment process. After months of research, collaboration, and hard work, it's rewarding to see findings from my undergraduate research contribute to the scientific community. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to my colleagues who supported me throughout this journey. This is just the beginning of Khan et al., and I’m excited to continue exploring new questions and pushing the boundaries of knowledge. 🚀 Check out the publication here: https://lnkd.in/eQTGTbg8 #FirstPublication #ScientificResearch #NewBeginnings #Grateful #ScienceCommunity #ResearchJourney
