The collection of esteemed Irish musician and songwriter Rory Gallagher comes to auction on 17 October. The whole collection will be on view to the public for the very first time from 12-17 October at Bonhams New Bond Street.  Guitarist Magazine took an exclusive look at this legendary collection. We kicked off Asia Week New York at Bonhams with Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art, which more than doubled its all-in estimate and achieved US$7.8 million overall with 88% lots sold. Leading the auction was the David S. and Nayda Utterberg Collection of Classical Chinese Furniture, which achieved US$4.26 million in total for five rare lots of 17th century huanghuali furniture. "The Utterberg collection contained some of the finest examples of Ming Dynasty huanghuali furniture to come to the market in recent years. Each piece of the couple’s collection was carefully selected from the leading dealers of the day for its superb craftsmanship, simplicity of line, and richly figured grain," commented Dessa Goddard, Bonhams SVP, Head of Asian Art US. Asia Week at Bonhams continues today with Classical and Modern Chinese Paintings and on September 18 with Japanese & Korean Art as well as A Private Collection of Japanese Prints and Watercolors.

Bonhams is honored to present Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis’ wedding dress from her marriage to Aristotle Onassis in our upcoming Classic Luxury: Style Icons auction. Kennedy Onassis’ wedding dress ivory lace mini dress, designed by Valentino, was amore of a fashion choice than it was a traditional one. She paved the way for the modern bride in the late ‘60s by opting for something shorter rather than a long princess gown. “Jackie [had] really found her voice and used it by picking this beautiful Valentino piece,” said Marissa Speer, Bonhams’ head of sale for handbag and fashion in an exclusive interview.
