Changing the Landscape as the world’s leading fine wine and spirits merchant. Access and instantly trade on LiveTrade.
About us
Established in 1997, Bordeaux Index began with the passion of a few wine & spirit lovers looking to redefine the way a wine merchant works. Today we are one of the leading global fine wine merchants with offices in London, Hong Kong, Singapore and Los Angeles. With an emphasis on an unparalleled client relationship, transparency and innovative technology, Bordeaux Index became a major disruptor in the trade. Our product offering covers wine and spirits from all over the world including the famous French wineries of Le Pin, Cheval Blanc, and Chateau Margaux. During 2009 Bordeaux Index introduced LiveTrade, the world's first online wine trading platform with firm bid and offer prices available 24 hours a day. LiveTrade won the ‘Best Online Trading Platform’ at The Drinks Business Awards 2020, described as a ‘game-changer’. Everything we do is driven by a restless passion for changing the way that fine wine and spirits are traded across the globe. That restlessness has seen us place our passion for excellence, and all we know about fine wine, into the creation of a cutting edge transparent trading technology, which now redefines the way that wine is bought and sold. We aim to make the world of fine wine accessible to a broader audience, demystifying the process. Bordeaux Index has promoted an unstuffy and innovative approach to selling fine wine for both consumption and investment. Buying and selling wine is only part of the Bordeaux Index package: we also offer the finest wine storage facilities in the UK. To ensure your wine is kept in perfect condition, we store our customer reserves in The Colerne Reserve, a brand new, state of the art wine storage facility operated by Octavian – the world's leading long term fine wine storage provider. Our own Bordeaux Index dedicated team checks every case in and out, thus giving you the reassurance that your valuable wines are in the best possible hands. We serve as the connector between you, the customer, and the greatest

"I was first exposed to Champagne during my baptism, with drops of wine on my lips. Growing up in Champagne means you’re surrounded by history, certain types of food, and a certain climate which all shapes your taste. I associate Champagne with lots of history, lots of good friends and important milestones, and feel the culture fosters a strong belief in human resilience which I see in my business." For our next instalment in our 'A Path to Wine' series we interview Alice Paillard of Champagne Bruno Paillard. A series in partnership with JancisRobinson.com we interview some of the best-known women in wine. We recently participated in the Cape Winemakers Guild 2024 Auction. “Once more, we were the single largest buyer at the auction, and we are very glad to have an opportunity to support the South African wine industry in such a public way We firmly believe that South Africa is producing the best value wines in the world, and the calibre of the wines on auction this year was astounding. All serious collectors should be buying South African wine.” - David Thomas, Sales Director Check out the article below from The Drinks Business ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/e2dt2xmr

The October edition of the Alternative Investor is out now, in which we focus on 'alternative alternatives,' namely art, cars, watches, wine and whisky. Sign up for future editions https://lnkd.in/e7x8Evbh. ✍️ Douglas Kent Walla, founder of Kent Fine Art, writes about art’s bifurcation into value and momentum. ✍️ PistonDAO’s Emanuel Georgouras looks at fractionalisation in the luxury car market. ✍️ Bordeaux Index, Fine Wines & Spirits’ Matthew O'Connell picks-up wine & whisky and the role of trading platforms. ✍️ Carr Watches’ Dominic Carr expands on the return of the watch market and the ones to keep an eye on. In Letter from America, Prosek Partners’ Mark Kollar delves into the fast-growing world of private credit and, in particular, the growth of Asset-Based Financing, which he sees as “taking centre stage in private markets.” Looking back, September was another turbulent month for hedge funds, but they mostly closed in positive territory. There were some sizeable fundraisings, but BlackRock’s AI fund stood out. Joint ventures and new targets were announced, with Apollo Global Management, Inc. looking to hit $1.5 trillion by 2029. There were more developments in the #UAE, with Capricorn Fund Managers opening up in #Dubai and the region now housing a quarter of the top 100 hedge funds. Europe had a decent start in H1 PE fundraising, although H2 looks to be tougher. The Marex/ AIMA - The Alternative Investment Management Association survey findings show that emerging managers are adapting to this environment. While Chris Hohn’s CIFF pledged an extraordinary $516 million in 2023 to good causes. Plus more… We wrap up with RQC Group updating us on the latest regulatory developments from the UK and the US. Once again, we are delighted to have The Money Maze Podcast in this edition, which is a collaboration between Brodie Consulting Group, Capricorn Fund Managers and RQC Group. Thank you to everybody else who contributed to this edition, namely Jonty Campion, Lynda Stoelker, Darryl Noik, Will Campion, Catherine S. Ruberry, Matthew Raver, Carla Morana, Cassie Georgouras, Annie King, Alice Basson, Molly Bond and others. "I think for me, this is the project of my life. Even if it’s really challenging and I spend a lot of time working in and representing Beauséjour I have to be there. I think Prisca’s and my goals are the same. We want to make Beauséjour one of the iconic wines. I would be very happy if it’s a wine that collectors seek out or if people say that they just want to taste it once in their life." For the next instalment in our 'A Path to Wine' series created with JancisRobinson.com we interview Joséphine Duffau-Lagarrosse, the winemaker at St-Emilion's Beauséjour Duffau-Lagarrosse. Joséphine took the reins as co-director – alongside Prisca Courtin-Clarins – in April 2021, just before the 2020 en primeur campaign.
