📢 Newhouse extension update 📢 Last year, we announced a £15 million investment in our Newhouse depot – and we’re thrilled to share that the 61k sq ft extension is now up! 🎉 That’s big enough to fit 182 double decker buses! 😲 Set to be fully operational in 2026, this expansion means around 50% more locally held stock, and optimised availability for our customers across Scotland. Watch this space for more updates as we get ready to serve you from our even bigger and better depot! 🚛✨ Brakes UK #BrakesScotland #Foodservice #SupportLocal

We were delighted to welcome this year’s Hub International UK Food School to Newhouse for a behind-the-scenes look at food wholesaling! 🍅🥕 The day kicked off with a (very chilly! ❄️) warehouse tour led by Gary and Gerry, followed by an interactive demo from Chef Michael—putting our team's taste buds to the test! 😋 To top it all off, everyone enjoyed a tasting of some of our favourite Scottish products. Safe to say, the Taste of Arran ice cream stole the show! Until next time Hub team 👋 #FoodSchool #BrakesScotland #HubInternational

We committed to halving food waste by 2030 and we have some great news to share. 👉 In 2024 we'd reduced our food waste by 22% since our baseline figure in 2019. 🙌 This has been made possible by donating surplus to our charity partners, improving product forecasting, working with suppliers, and our colleagues' commitment to reducing food waste! 👏♻️ #FoodWasteActionWeek #FoodWasteReduction

Join us as we set sail to the stunning Isle of Mull to visit one of the mussel farms run by our trusted supplier, Scottish Shellfish ⛵ Mussels aren’t just delicious - they’re packed with omega-3, zinc, and vitamin B2, making them a super healthy choice. But did you know they’re also one of the most eco-friendly seafood options? Mussels have the lowest carbon footprint of any farmed fish or shellfish in the UK, as they actually pull carbon from the surrounding waters to form their shells! 🌍 Best of all? They’re quick and easy to cook, so you can enjoy fresh Scottish seafood in no time. Discover our Scottish seafood range today 🐟 https://bit.ly/3DN7EuG #ScottishTourismMonth #BrakesScotland #ScottishSeafood #Mussels #IsleofMull

A huge congratulations to our driver, Mark Williamson, on his recent Bravo Award! 🏆 Mark heroically managed to talk a member of public off a bridge, who was attempting to take her own life. After taking the time to speak with her he managed to pull her to safety. 💚 Heroes don't always wear capes; sometimes, they're behind the wheel 🚚 #EmployeeRecognition #EverydayHero
