Great to host so many amazing women at the joint Women's Sport Collective x Brandsmiths’ event in Manchester. 🎤 We loved hearing from long jump Olympian ABIGAIL Irozuru OLY who shared her inspiring story and journey with us. She talked about the highs and lows of competing and how her consistent determination led her to achieve her dreams of finally competing at the Tokyo Olympics. A reminder to us all to never give up! With over 15 years (🤯) representing England and our GB team, Abigail officially retired this summer. Thank you to Abigail for speaking and to Gemma Louise Porter from WSC for organising such a great event. #WomenInSport #Athletes #OlympicSport #SportsCareer #SportsLaw #WomensGroup #ManchesterLawFirm

4 tips to help you have more open conversations about mental health at work from our charity partners at Samaritans. → Check in on your colleagues (and ask twice) → If you’ve noticed changes in a colleague, ask if they’re ok → Remember you don’t have to be an expert to help someone to open up → Being open about hard times you’ve experienced yourself is a powerful way to show others that they’re not alone #WorldMentalHealthDay #WorkplaceMentalHealth
So many of us spend so much of our time at work and it can have a big impact on how we're feeling. Which is why it’s so important that we’re able to have open and honest conversations about mental health at work. This World Mental Health Day, we want to help de-stigmatise talking about mental health in the workplace by encouraging people to spot the signs when someone might be struggling. Often listening and giving people the opportunity to express how they feel can make a big difference and could help them open up and go on to get the support they need. We all know it’s important to reach out and check in, but we don’t always know how. At Samaritans, we believe that everyone can learn the skills to have conversations that can change and even save lives. Samaritans Training and Engagement Programmes (STEP) gives people the tools and confidence to step up, step in and support others. If you think your workplace could benefit from Samaritans’ skills and knowledge from over 70 years of listening and providing emotional support, find out more: https://bit.ly/3aA4whN
