Chairing and speaking at the HEALTH AND JUSTICE UK 2024 conference at the RCGP was an honour We need more voices of people who’ve resided in our prison walls speaking to those who serve them My main message was simple: - Behind every interaction are human beings who deserve love, kindness and compassion - Criminal justice is a public health issue - People in prison are a reflection of the system and a collective responsibility of us all The talks were fascinating To see such passion, hope and courage from practitioners across the system was encouraging Thank you Dr Caroline Watson FRCGP QTS and Andrea Coomber KC (Hon.) for the opportunity It was a deeply humbling experience 💙🙏🏾🫡
