    Interesting to read Jeremy Clarkson's newspaper column over the weekend in which he said it felt like London is dying. It featured one of our shop marketing boards. Here our co owner Richard Brecker shares his thoughts.

    While I am grateful to @TheSun for publishing a photo of our @breckergrossmith marketing board in @jeremyclarkson1 's newspaper column over the weekend, the pedant in me cannot let it go without comment. I agree with @jeremyclarkson1 that at times it does feel like London is not in rude health. And I am totally with him on the overpowering pong of weed everywhere. Spot on. Jeremy was disconcerted to see shops in one of the most expensive streets in Notting Hill being boarded up. Am also aware that the image used was a convenient @gettyimages stock shot but I recognise it actually shows a commercial unit Brecker Grossmith previously marketed in Shaftesbury Avenue. And guess what, it is not all doom and gloom. I am very happy to say we completed the letting of this unit to a top notch cinnamon bun operator @lever_and_bloom in early 2023. If you are ever in the area I heartily recommend. @gabygassnerjewellery is a bit of a cinnamon bun connoisseur and tells me "their buns are delicious!" but I digress. What I really wanted to do was to say to dear @jeremyclarkson1, if you let me know which shops you saw boarded up in Notting Hill Gate, I will personally write to each landlord involved and family firm @breckergrossmith will offer to get their space filled pronto. I keep seeing endless videos online of thieves nicking Amazon and other online deliveries. It's a soulless experience don't you think and nothing beats personal interaction.
