✅GRADE II LISTED REFURBISHMENT COMPLETED✅ Working in collaboration with Michael Brady Ltd, on behalf of Spaghetti Bridge Ltd, Briggs & Forrester Special Projects have completed the M&E package on the Grade II listed Nazareth House refurbishment in Northampton. The existing building, set out over four storeys and covering an area of 1,500m2, has been converted into a SEN facility, with general teaching spaces on the ground to second floor along with a science area and the lower ground floor housing the plantroom for the building. Upmost care and consideration to retain existing features of the building were kept in mind during the refurbishment. Nazareth House was built circa 1897 and began its life providing accommodation for the elderly and orphaned children, primarily Roman Catholic girls. In more recent years it became home to Bosworth Independent College. 🏫The historic building, is set to get a new lease of life under independent school group, Spaghetti Bridge ltd. The new school, Hampton Bridge, will be the eighth school in the Spaghetti Bridge family and the first outside of the southwest. Spaghetti Bridge believes that the environmental ‘space’ of our school communities impacts their perception and wellbeing. This is rooted in research, summarising that the presentation of a physical environment can impact how others think, behave and feel. 🗣️Dan Alipaz, CEO of Spaghetti Bridge🗣️ "We are excited to be working with new local authority partners and families as we grow into the midlands, and bring with us our unique pedagogical approach called 'Enterprise Learning' - a research based method which aims to spark students' curiosity through engaging in real world questions and allowing them to create new knowledge.” Spaghetti Bridge is a progressive independent school group who cater to young people with an Education, Health Care Plan for whom mainstream education is not suitable. They believe in learning that has meaning and a real-world impact, to enable learners to learn the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding to discover and cultivate their ability to learn who they are, what they can be, and how they can contribute meaningfully to their community. #excellenceateverylevel #projectcompletion #buildingservices #GradeIIListed #Refurbishment #HistoricBuilding #SENFacility #CommunityImpact #EducationFacilities #mechanical #electrical #buildingservicesinstallation

🌟 PROJECT SECURED AS PRINCIPAL CONTRACTOR 🌟 In the role of Principal Contractor, Briggs & Forrester Special Projects have secured the ‘A Stable Future’ project at Delapré Abbey, a 900 year old abbey located in our founding town of Northampton. Working in conjunction with Currie & Brown and Buttress Architects, the project will see the restoration of the existing Grade II* listed 19th Century stable block for Client Delapré Abbey Preservation Trust. The initiative will transform and develop a cluster of stable buildings, gate lodge and cottages into a mixed-use development to host wellbeing, retail and community events. The new wellbeing hub will promote the mental and physical health of both the local community and visitors, with a number of community, wellbeing and retail led businesses already in place to occupy spaces and deliver programmes in the refurbished building. Briggs & Forrester have been contracted to complete the entirety of the construction works including demolition of none listed existing structures, refurbishment of existing buildings, new building works where required and all associated external & MEP works. The project will feature sustainable technologies including ground source heat pumps, photovoltaic panels and rainwater harvesting systems. A Stable Future has been possible thanks to the National Lottery Heritage Fund which provides grants to ensure British heritage is valued, cared for and sustained for now and the future. The completed redevelopment will create a minimum of 42 full time jobs and contribute an estimated £1.57m per annum to the local economy. The project is due to start in 2025 and complete in Spring 2026. #excellenceateverylevel #construction #constructionuk #principalcontractor #mechanical #electrical #refurbishment #HeritageRestoration #SustainableBuilding #CommunityDevelopment #ConstructionProjects

🤝 THE BENEFITS OF VOLUNTEERING 🤝 As we continue our sustainability journey into 2025 we are excited to launch our new Social Value and Volunteering Policies including a paid volunteering day for all employees! Over the last 12 months a number of teams across our offices have embraced local volunteering opportunities and our new Volunteering Policy further encourages and supports all of our employees to volunteer their time and skills to charitable causes. The subject of volunteering and whether it makes business sense are often up for debate. Here are 5 reasons we took the step towards formalising our policy: 💚 To develop employee skills and communication 💛 To help boost employee mental health through a sense of achievement, making a difference and feeling part of a community 💚 To promote employee engagement, aid employee retention and attract new talent 💛 To support our local communities and the charities, community groups and causes that directly impact our workforce 💚 To aid our sustainability journey ensuring new work winning opportunities along the way, recorded using Thrive - Social Impact Software Our Social Value Policy outlines our commitment to creating positive social, economic, and environmental impacts supporting our existing Sustainability Policy, focusing on social value ambitions and goals and outlining how these will be realised. These policies reflect our commitment to making a positive impact on our community and empowering our employees to embrace these and actively participate in our social impact initiatives. #SocialValue #Volunteering #Construction #Engineering #BuildingServices #MEP #Sustainability #Policies

📣 BUSINESS UPDATE 📣 As 2025 kicks off, we have some big news in Briggs & Forrester Engineering Services. Ian Lawrence, who has headed up the business as Managing Director for the last 8 years, has stepped down from the role and has been succeeded by Will Newman. Ian has been with the business for 36 years and will remain both a Briggs & Forrester Group board director and an Engineering Services board director, helping to transition the business to the new management structure. He will also continue to oversee the marketing, quality and sustainability departments for the Group. Will started his career with the business as a Technical Trainee in 2002 progressing to the position of Project Manager. After a 4 year absence, Will returned to the business in 2017 and has successfully overseen the growth of the South East as Regional Managing Director into a sustainable and profitable £80m turnover region. Ian stated “As everyone knows the industry has faced challenging trading conditions during the last few years but it is pleasing that the business is thriving with a record order book of good quality work. It is therefore the ideal time to implement the next phase of our succession plan and hand over the reigns to Will. I have no doubt that under Will's direction the business will continue to move from strength to strength and I very much look forward to supporting Will and the board during this period.” #NewYear #Construction #Engineering #EngineeringServices #MEP #BuildingServices #Promotion #ManagingDirector #BusinessUpdate
