Over the last few months, our survey vessel ‘Humber Guardian’ has been busy carrying out some work for APEM Ltd, part of APEM Group, involving multiple trawling methods. The Humber Guardian and it’s 3 sister vessels are ideal platforms for environmental survey work due to their large clear deck area, capable A-frame, and deck winches. APEM Ltd was able to use multiple techniques including beam trawling, otter trawling, pelagic trawling, and Ichthyoplankton/zooplankton sampling.   For more information on our Survey Vessel please click the link below https://lnkd.in/exNsXuUP

Briggs Marine has recently completed a refurbishment and solarisation of the Fidra Lighthouse off the coast of North Berwick for its client, Forth Ports Limited. The lighthouse was built in 1885 and was converted to be fully automated in 1970.Fidra Lighthouse is located at the top of the small island of Fidra, only a few hundred yards off the mainland.   Briggs’ workscope commenced at the end of August, working alongside rope access specialists, Balmore Group (SCOTLAND) Specialist Contractors to access the less accessible areas of the lighthouse. Due to the remote location, it was necessary to mobilise equipment out to the island via a helicopter, with the personnel being transferred safely by boat to complete the refurbishment.   The project is now in the final stages of the solarisation task which will allow the light to operate year-round and provide continuity in the case of power cuts etc.   See images below of before and after renovations.   #aidstonavigation #lighthouse #refurbishment
