🧦 ROCK YOUR SOCKS THIS FRIDAY!! 🧦 Join us this Friday, 21st March, when we will be wearing our brightest socks to raise awareness and money on World Down Syndrome Day. Why 21st March? The date being the 21st day of the 3rd month was chosen to represent the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome. World Down Syndrome Day is on 21st March every year. It is a global awareness day which has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012. The goal is to help people understand and support those with Down Syndrome better. Wonderful to see our colleagues engaging with local schools, inspiring the workforce of the future and sharing valuable insights into the work we do at Forth Ports!
Had the privilege of joining Sergeant Morgan and Constable Turk from the Port of Tilbury London police force at Little Thurrock Primary School last Wednesday. Nigel Morgan and Louise shared insights with the students about the various roles and responsibilities within force. They gave a live demonstration of how a speed gun works, allowed the children to have their fingerprints taken, and even gave them the exciting opportunity to sit in the front of a police car! It was a fantastic experience, sparking curiosity and inspiration in the young minds of today. A big thank you to the children for their impeccable behaviour and to Nigel and Louise for making this event a success!
