  • This Scottish Apprenticeship Week here at Brown + Wallace we are celebrating our current apprentices. Thomas Roos came to Brown + Wallace for some work experience in 2023 and upon leaving school joined us full time in the summer of 2024. Thomas has now started the second half of his first year on the Graduate Apprenticeship in Quantity Surveying at Glasgow Caledonian University. He has been doing excellent work and getting in about lots of different aspects of the profession and getting time out on site as well as undertaking key tasks in the office. When asked how Thomas has been getting on he had this to say:-   “I have really enjoyed my time at Brown and Wallace, The Graduate Apprenticeship route is fantastic as I am gaining experience and learning loads about the profession whilst working towards my degree” Kerri Koczubik is a Trainee Principal Designer. Kerri has been with Brown + Wallace for nearly 17 years starting out as an admin assistant before deciding to expand her skillset into the Principal Designer role.  Kerri is now in her first year of an HNC in Construction Management at City of Glasgow College having last year completed an NQ in Built Environment. Kerri had this to say about the opportunity to develop her career within B+W:- “I was extremely happy to be given the chance to move towards the technical side of the business. I am enjoying my courses and I am completely supported by the rest of Brown + Wallace, I am expanding my knowledge both at college and in the office” Hannah Brown is in her second year of the full time HND Quantity Surveying course at City of Glasgow College, as well as working a couple of days per week during term time at Brown + Wallace.  Hannah has been helping out with various projects and becoming an expert in our CAD measure software CostX. On her studies and work opportunities Hannah had this to say:- “Balancing my work and study life has been rewarding for me. It’s not only allowed me to apply what I’ve learned in real time but also given me hands-on experience that helps with my academic and career development.” Brown + Wallace has been a long-term supporter of the apprenticeship route with our first trainee starting the part time QS degree course almost 26 years ago.  Many of our trainees have remained with us since graduating, completed their RICS APC and worked their way into senior positions within the business. We also support placement students in our Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying and Principal Designer departments as well as work experience opportunities through strategic relationships with schools in a number of different local authorities. #ScottishApprenticeshipWeek #QuantitySurveying #BuildingSurveying #PrincipalDesigner #GCAL #CityofGlasgowCollege #qs #bs #pd #trainee #apprenticeships #future #careers
