☕Time for another Brew!☕ For the latest Business Brew podcast, we talked to Reshma Begum, who looks after the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) in the North East. The FSB does vital work across the country, but in the fastest-changing of all regions that army of small businesses is a vital part of the scaffolding supporting our growth. The opportunities for SMEs are unrivalled here, so it was great to catch up with Reshma to talk at such an exciting time. Look at this impressive line-up! In a very short space of time, these young people could well be pivotal to our region's future - making key decisions about multi-million pound investments and coming up with ideas that would have been science fiction a few years ago. As the new intake on the bp-backed Clean Energy Technicians course at Redcar & Cleveland College these students have a golden opportunity - and so does the whole region. It’s been a busy week this week. Tuesday saw Tees Valley Combined Authority displaying and talking at the NEPIC meet the members. This was set in the beautiful grounds of Hardwick Hall Hotel. Yesterday I attended The Northern Echo BUSINESSiQ North East event hosted by Cummins Inc. in Darlington. It was good to hear from Chris McDonald and Lola McEvoy about government plans and the impact on the Tees Valley. It was also great to see Sophie Walton on the panel and discuss innovations part in economic growth. Great catch up with Jacob Tribe, Jo Elliott ☀️🌻🎦, Chris B., Alison Welford, Abigail Bell and Jess Churchman to name a few. We’re definitely back into networking season and I love it. I look forward to seeing many more of you at events over the coming weeks. Next one for me is the Innovation Mixer at Flok Co-Working Space on Tuesday.
