A year ago, Her Majesty The Queen visited the Meadows Community Centre to celebrate the Royal Voluntary Service volunteers who run the cafe for the local community. Strictly celebrities Tasha Ghouri and Johannes Radebe led ballroom and tap-dancing lessons, which Her Majesty enjoyed alongside the volunteers and guests at the Nigel Gawthrope Performance and Arts Hall. We are thrilled to announce that three of our developments have been shortlisted for Best New Building in the Greater Cambridge Design and Construction Awards 2025! 🎉 🏡 L2 Orchard Park with Mole Architects: Featuring 30 homes for social rent and 45 affordable rent homes. This highly sustainable development includes two apartment blocks and a row of coach houses. 🏠 The Meadows and Buchan Street: We’ve delivered 106 brand-new council homes across both sites, along with a state-of-the-art sustainable community centre, improved open spaces, a Sports England-approved football pitch, new play areas, a skate area, and a MUGA (multi-use games area). 🏡 Aragon and Sackville Close: These developments have transformed two former garage sites into 14 low-carbon, two-bedroom council homes, with seven homes at each location. Our Colville Road Phase 3 development features 48 new one and two bed council-rented apartments and three bedroom council homes , reinforcing our commitment to addressing the need for more affordable homes in Cambridge.  Alongside these new homes, four new commercial units have been built to support local businesses and enhance the vibrancy of the area. 🎉 We are thrilled to announce that our Campkin Road development was announced as the WINNER of Best Large Social Housing Development at Friday night’s LABC Grand Finals.🥳👏🏻 The judges praised the site team and 3C Shared Services for their strong, trust-based relationship throughout the project, with clear and open communication. This collaboration allowed inspections to be scheduled with just 24 hours’ notice, ensuring smooth handovers and allowing tenants to move in more quickly. They also remarked that the Technical team also coordinated closely with Building Control before starting key construction elements, preventing potential issues and ensuring full compliance with building regulations - resulting in a successful and efficient housing project at Campkin Road. 🌍This week is #EnergySavingWeek, and we’re proud to have delivered 21 #Passivhaus council homes in Cambridge! Here at Fen Road we replaced two existing single storey buildings, which were no longer in use and in a poor state of repair with 12 low carbon homes comprising 8 two bedroom homes; 2, three bedroom homes; 1 three bedroom wheelchair adapted house, and 1 four bedroom wheelchair adapted home.🏡 Built using off-site timber frame systems, the pilot ‘Passivhaus’ council homes have many benefits for tenants including very low energy use and heating costs, with thick highly insulated walls, solar panels and gas free heating.⚡ We've also created a new, safe and green access for walking and cycling to the Five Trees open space, which has been preserved in its entirety, helping the local community to enjoy this space. 🌱 Cambridge City Council Hill Group UK #passivhaus #offsiteconstruction #lowcarbon #sustainability #development #energy #sustainable #environment #Cambridge
