Dave’s BSA Gold Star sells for £15,800! 🏍️ The last motorcycle ridden by the late Hairy Biker Dave Myers fetched an impressive total at auction on Wednesday. CancerCare is honoured to be one of the chosen charities who will benefit from the proceeds of the sale. The bike was ridden by Barrow born Dave in his final TV series, the BBC’s The Hairy Bikers Go West and it went under the hammer with H&H Classics at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull. The buyer was Dave’s good friend Si Harrison. Liliana Myers, Dave’s widow, said: “I’m delighted that Dave’s bike has found a new home and raised proceeds for three very worthy charities close to Dave’s heart. “It’s a special motorbike with some special memories and I hope the new owner will love riding it as much as Dave did, creating their own memories to treasure. Who knows, maybe that will even include riding it with us on Dave Day in June!” Please join us for the Dave Day Weekend on 21st and 22nd June 2025. Early detection is crucial, and raising awareness can save lives. If you are concerned, speak to your GP. During 2025, we're shining a light on 25 heroes of CancerCare who have all made a significant difference to the lives of people who need it in their local community 4️⃣/ 2️⃣5️⃣ Our next hero is Diana, one of our much-loved therapists who is most commonly seen at our Kendal Centre. Diana completed her training in 1998 before she was offered a work placement at CancerCare where she shadowed a massage therapist. Seven years later she responded to CancerCare's advert in the Westmorland Gazette seeking aromatherapists to join the team. Diana was delighted to be offered a job! Diana has changed the lives of many local people and she brings an air of positivity with her wherever she goes. Thank you, Diana, for being a hero and making such a difference to CancerCare's clients. #CancerCare #Reiki #Aromatherapy #Therapist #ExtraMile #25HeroesIn2025 #CancerCareHeroes #HardWork #Charity #Reflexology

The last motorcycle ridden by the late TV chef Dave Myers in the Hairy Bikers TV series is set to go under the hammer next week, with part of the proceeds from the sale coming to CancerCare 🏍️ The BSA Gold Star, which Dave rode in the last-ever Hairy Bikers series, will be auctioned with H&H Classics at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull, where it is currently on display alongside Dave’s riding gear. Dave very sadly died from cancer in February of last year. CancerCare is honoured to be part of the event and we look forward to seeing which enthusiast, fan or collector will take home the iconic bike. Dave's wife, Liliana Myers, said: “The auction of Dave’s BSA Goldstar is a fantastic way to support two charities who do incredible work. “We hope to raise as much as possible, so would encourage interested bidders to dig deep into their pockets for the chance to own a truly special motorbike.” Don't forget, CancerCare is also one of the two chosen charities who will celebrate the Dave Day Weekend on 21st and 22nd June in Barrow.
