Cotswold Homes has opened its new show home at Falfield giving prospective buyers the first opportunity to see the quality and design at King’s Meadow, a prestigious new community of just 21 homes. Set in a semi-rural location just four miles from Thornbury and conveniently positioned to the west of Junction 14 of the M5, King’s Meadow offers the perfect blend of countryside serenity and commuter convenience, with easy access to Gloucester and Bristol. The Pittville show home is a good-sized four-bedroom detached home designed to blend into the character of this historic Cotswold village. Boasting a double garage, boot room/utility room, study, and a spacious family kitchen/diner running the entire width of the house with French doors leading out to the garden. King’s Meadow is an exceptional collection of elegant homes, featuring many of Cotswold Homes' most popular three and four bedroom home designs. This meticulously planned community is designed to offer a superior quality of life, with homes that are as functional as they are beautiful. The development will also include thoughtfully integrated allotments and is surrounded by open space, providing residents with plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities, from scenic countryside walks to the perfect work-from-home environment. Each home at King’s Meadow boasts an impressive all-inclusive specification and state-of-the-art green credentials. Features such as photovoltaic panels integrated into the roof, air source heat pumps, underfloor heating on the ground floor, and electric vehicle chargers not only contribute to a sustainable lifestyle but also promise significant energy savings for homeowners. “We now have our show home open and are looking forward to showing customers around our beautiful show home. We’ve combined contemporary, money-saving features with our renowned eye for design to create homes that are both aesthetically stunning and exceptionally practical,” said Sarah Williams, Sales and Marketing Director, at Cotswold Homes. “King’s Meadow is not just a place to live; it will be a community designed to grow and adapt with the evolving needs of modern families. Location is key with easy links to Bristol and Gloucester for quick commutes.” Externally, the homes at King’s Meadow are designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding natural beauty, featuring exquisite elevations finished in Purbeck Ragstone Natural Stone or roughcast Ivory Render, complemented by deep red or grey rooftiles.

“The swift moves to address the constraints in the planning system are welcome and underline the Government’s commitment to increasing housing delivery, but further policy interventions are needed if we are to meet the ambitious target." 🖊️ Neil Jefferson, Chief Executive of the Home Builders Federation   The Government has published updates to the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), including:   👉 new immediate mandatory housing targets for councils 👉 increased home building targets for areas with the highest unaffordability for housing and greatest potential for growth 👉 'stronger action' to ensure councils adopt up-to-date local plans or develop new plans that work for their communities 👉 A new 'common-sense approach' to the greenbelt, requiring councils to review their greenbelt boundaries to meet targets, identifying and prioritising lower quality ‘grey belt’ land      While the announced updates are welcome, we must not lose sight of the need to address the wider barriers affecting the market, including the lack of affordable mortgage lending and support for first-time buyers, uncontracted affordable homes, and the nutrients issue that has 160k homes blocked.
