At Carlisle Brass, health and safety remains a paramount concern. Our focus for the first quarter revolves around the theme "back to basics." Key discussions have emphasised the significance of personal protective equipment (PPE), individual commitment to health and safety, and the importance of reporting accidents and near misses. Teams throughout the organisation have actively participated in safety audits, constructive safety dialogues, and team briefings. Recently, our teams congregated for a roadshow-style event led by Anthony Coey Tech IOSH, our HSEQ Manager, with support from Victoria Prattley and Tobin Hart from the site safety team. During this event, we engaged in discussions about our health and safety performance over the past year. Teams had the opportunity to contribute their safety suggestions and took part in interactive activities like identifying hazards. Congratulations to the winners of our hazard-spotting activity: Andy Hey, Will Kirkpatrick, and Adam Bridges!

We finish-up our International Women's Day spotlights with the wonderful Rach! This is my 7th year at Carlisle Brass, my journey started in 2018 and since then I have moved to Operations where I have taken on extra roles and training including Health and Safety checks, Ped Op Training and I am also a Fire marshal. I was presented with an Outstanding Achievement Award in 2023 for my charitable endeavours outside the workplace supporting numerous charities. Being part of the Carlisle Brass team is like having an extended family who always there to cheer you on and celebrate your wins no matter how big or small, you are always encouraged to achieve and supported on the journey to do so by all sectors of the business. In my free time I spend time with my 4 mischievous kittens Sydney, OBI, Tiffany and Samantha, I have a number of charitable causes I support regularly that are close to my heart. We continue our International Women's Day spotlights with Lins... Hello, I am Lins, lead graphic designer, working for Carlisle Brass for over 20 years! I grew up near Glasgow and started studying at the Building and Printing College. I then moved to Carlisle as a student, to complete my design degree at the Art college. 🐶 I am a massive dog person and love all things creative and glittery. ✨ My favourite part of graphic design work is seeing your ideas come to life…my days are mostly spent creating brochures, adverts, web images and trying to spot typos! It's International Women's Day, so lets meet some of our wonderful team! Hi I'm Grace! I started my journey at Carlisle Brass in 2022 at the age of 19 in the Customer Service Team. I have remained within this team, gaining experience & product knowledge and progressing in my role for the last 3 years, including passing my year 1 DIP GAI qualification. I am now a part of our Customer Plus team, looking after key accounts and customers who have requirements that sit outside of standard process. With support from both my managers and colleagues, I wish to progress further within my role and the business as a whole, whilst currently working towards achieving my year 2 DIP GAI qualification. I am grateful for the encouragement I receive to better myself within Carlisle Brass. Even when I doubt my own abilities, there is someone to advocate for your growth and encourage you. I believe it is important that if we wish to progress further, the company support you and assist in any way possible. In my free time, I love to attend my gym classes alongside my friends. I recently began Pilates which I am also thoroughly enjoying! I love to cook, finding new recipes to try out weekly and baking my much-loved brownies. On a weekend you will find me either shopping, at Starbucks; enjoying a coffee with friends or out with my cocker spaniel puppy – Maggie. I love to travel, soak up the sun and visit new places; I wish to tick off more destinations this year. '
