We are pleased to announce The 'Pod of Drawers' by Marc Newson from Carpenters Workshop Gallery has won Best Contemporary Piece at Design Miami.Paris 2024 This work reflects the artist’s innovative approaches to the treatment of materials. Newson’s work ranges from furniture and aircraft design to clothing and jewellery. Inspired by early 20th-century French cabinetmaker André Groult, this piece is Newson’s second riveted aluminium creation, after the LC1 chaise longue in 1986, using a similar technique of applying hand-beaten, cut aluminium over a fluid fibreglass form. This particular piece is a prototype, making it exceptionally rare and unique. Reflections are reimagined in Paul Cocksedge’s upcoming exhibition ‘Squeeze’ at Carpenters Workshop Gallery Paris. Known for his innovative designs, Cocksedge explores the alchemy of creating reflective surfaces, inspired by early human reflections in water and metal. By compressing soft, three-dimensional forms into two-dimensional mirrors, he captures movement and transforms the shapes into flat, reflective surfaces held in place by their frames. This captivating series made its debut at the iconic Hôtel de Sully during #ParisDesignWeek 2024 last month, drawing in audiences with its innovative installation. We are proud to announce the acquisition of Marcin Rusak's Vas Florum 23 by The High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Georgia.    This extraordinary work, from Rusak's Resina Botanica series, is a captivating fusion of floral hybrids, encased in resin and inspired by his Flowering Transition project. With orchids, gerberas, anthuriums and other specimens forming intricate, otherworldly compositions, Vas Florum 23 invites viewers into a visual exploration of nature's complexity and study the ways we manipulate it even further.   Following the success of his Vas Florum: Resina Botanica exhibition at Carpenters Workshop Gallery New York, this acquisition underscores Rusak’s innovative practice of extending the life of natural materials, and reflects Rusak’s engagement with the cycles of nature and material transformation.
