Do you support adults with disabilities? Are you a solicitor, care manager, policy writer or healthcare professional looking to ensure you’re meeting your clients' needs while working within the law? This study day will explore the legal challenges and the interpretation of laws surrounding the engagement and facilitation of sex workers for disabled individuals. It will offer clarity and deeper understanding from a variety of expert perspectives. Speakers include a neuropsychologist specializing in traumatic brain injury (TBI), a psychosexual therapist focusing on spinal cord injuries (SCI), a pioneer in sex and intimacy coaching, and a psychosexual supervisor working with care teams managing complex needs. The current legal framework suggests that facilitating a vulnerable person’s access to sex workers would require a change in the law. To clarify this, we’ll also hear from a barrister and human rights lawyer, who will shed light on this critical interpretation. Key questions will be addressed: Who determines what's in the best interest of the individual? Who makes these decisions? Is sex a human right? Whether you're a case manager, carer, or policy writer, this event will provide vital perspectives on these important and often sensitive topics. Join CMSUK on November 22nd at Irwin Mitchell in London. For more information and to book, please click the link https://lnkd.in/eHmR7bCY
