🌍 World Mental Health Day 🌍 🧠 "Mental health is just as important as physical health." 🧠 Today, let's take a moment to prioritise our mental wellbeing and the mental health of those around us. In a world that often feels overwhelming, it's essential to remember: 🌱 It's okay not to be okay. 🌱 You're not alone. 🌱 Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year on 10 October. This year’s theme set by the World Federation of Mental Health is workplace mental health. The theme highlights the importance of addressing mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, for the benefit of people, organisations, and communities. Let’s break the stigma, advocate for change, and create a world where mental health is recognised as vital for all. 💚 - 15% of UK workers are estimated to have an existing mental health condition* - 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem of some kind each year in England** - 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (like anxiety and depression) in any given week in England** Here’s how you can support: - Check in on loved ones: Sometimes a simple "How are you really?" can mean everything. - Take time for self-care: Whether it's a walk, meditation, or just taking a break, listen to what your mind and body need. - Raise awareness: Share your story, be kind to others, and advocate for mental health support. Together, we can make mental health a priority. Let's keep the conversation going beyond today! What we do at #Cashflows: - Wellbeing Day off: Cashflows give one paid day per year to employees to take the day to do something just for them, whether that be a hobby, a spa day or to just do nothing! 💆🏻♀️ - Our Wellbeing Centre on our People Hub hosts useful tools to promote good mental health and wellbeing, including #mindfulness, exercise videos, recipe ideas, and much more! 🍽 - We have wonderful Mental Health First Aiders who are always happy to have a confidential chat! ☕ - We provide private medical insurance which hosts a mental health platform and an additional mindfulness app. 🏥 - We provide access to a free 24-hour confidential helpline where our colleagues can access up to 6 counselling sessions on various topics! 🗣 - Tea at 2: Tomorrow we will be hosting a special edition of our weekly Tea at 2, practising mindfulness and taking some time out for our mental #wellbeing! Celebrating 2 years of exceptional leadership with Hannah Fitzsimons at the helm.
Cashflows - no games just a clear vision for success I've been inspired by the summer of spectacular sport, from our boys making the final of the euros (not quite matching the success of our ladies!), Wimbledon, and now getting to watch the first few days of the Olympics. The Cashflows team hear my thoughts on all that regularly in my weekly comms. Taking the Olympic Games specifically, there are several areas across multiple sports, that all the medallists share: clarity of vision, resilience, a deep set of core values, reliance upon a team, embracing and learning from failure and sheer tenacity to get better every day. These are all key to elite performance and qualities that mirror any walk of life. It’s also the same approach and culture that we’re building at Cashflows My journey at the company started just over 2 years ago, and this anniversary has given me cause for reflection. I set out the vision for the business very early on – it was simple but ambitious – I wanted to make it easy for SMEs to do business through delivering great payments technology…but with a unique ingredient, our people! In that short time, we have hit some huge milestones. We’ve grown our revenues by over 50% every year, adding many new customers along the way, enabling us to hit profitability in 2024, while also expanding our footprint into new markets and emerging markets. How have we done that? Put simply, it comes back to that clear vision that our amazing employees at Cashflows have all bought into. We've dedicated ourselves to always looking for ways to get better in everything we do both for our team and our clients and partners. We’ve optimised our solutions, as well as bringing value added services to market, such as our Cashflows Advance solution that has delivered over £2 million in funding to SMEs in the last 9 months. I know it’s the oldest cliché in the book, but it’s for good reason, the key difference is our people. As we expand geographically, we work exceptionally hard to get together as a business to collaborate and share new ideas for moving our business forward in new and innovative ways. At our most recent Summer off-site, which was our biggest yet, this perfectly reflected the wonderful culture we have (and will continue) to nurture. But the work is not done! There is lots to achieve before we’re standing on the medal podium, and I can't wait! 🙂 Paul Clarke .Paul Russell Richard Wilkins Julian Leigh Rick Calis June Ahi Cashflows
