The Celebrate Aberdeen Awards 2024 took place on Saturday at The Chester Hotel, attended by more than 300 people, they recognised and celebrated the enormous contribution which charities, social enterprises, and voluntary groups and all the individuals who work for and support them make to the wider society. Aberdeen FC Community Trust Trust was named Large Organisation of the Year with the award for Small Organisation of the Year going to SensationALL. Individual awards went to Amy-Lee Carr, Community Outreach Group (COG), (Young Supporter of the Year); Fay McLeod, Shelter Scotland (Fundraiser of the Year); Kris Davidson, Befriend a Child (Volunteer of the Year); and Jacquie Innes (Heart of the Community). Team of the Year went to Befriend a Child while We Too! Dream Night Series picked up the award for Campaign of the Year. Just two more sleeps until this year's Celebrate Aberdeen Awards and we can't wait!! We often chat about all the amazing charities, social enterprises and voluntary groups that make up Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire's third sectors, but tonight we wanted to give a HUGE Celebrate Aberdeen shout out to our brilliant band Winston Smith who will be performing for us (again!) at The Chester Hotel on Saturday. Just a couple of days now until the One Network Aberdeen event, taking place in the Madri Lounge at Aberdeen Football Club's Pittodrie Stadium. The event is open to the public from 1pm, so please come along and find out more about what the services the various organisations taking part offer.
