The NHS looks set to be the big winner of this week’s Budget—and rightly so. We believe health is the foundation of everything, and without it wealth creation and prosperity will remain out of reach. But for real long-term NHS reform, investment in tech and AI is critical. These are game-changers that can transform healthcare, delivering better outcomes for all. After health, the Government’s next priority should be getting Britain Back to Work. Labour’s promise of equitable wealth creation can only be realised if we tackle worklessness, empowering the 9.4 million Brits who are out of work to build meaningful new careers. At Cera, we’re proud to be playing our part—creating thousands of digital healthcare jobs and empowering people with career-boosting tech and digital skills for long-term success. It’s time for all employers to think creatively about how we can contribute to building a stronger, healthier, and more prosperous workforce. Our CFO Matt Ashley was invited to share his thoughts in City AM - you can read more here: https://lnkd.in/ehTJ5ZRN #NHS #Workforce #DigitalHealth #AI #Unemployment #SocialCare

💙 At Cera, we believe that home is where the heart is—and where care should be, too. 🏡 Mary's story of her father Peter's final moments, spent together in the comfort of his own home, truly captures the essence of what we aim to deliver: dignified, compassionate care at every stage of life, right through to the end. In Mary’s words "If he’d have been in hospital I couldn’t have done that. I could go and make a cup of tea, then go and sit next to him." Our mission is simple: to empower people to live longer, healthier lives in their own homes. 🚑 By harnessing preventative tech, we’ve reduced hospitalisations by up to 70% and helped families create cherished memories, just like Mary’s. We aim to work closely with the UK Government to bring meaningful reform to the care sector. Our goal is to build a model of care that better supports families, like Mary’s, ensuring that more people can remain at home, surrounded by loved ones, for as long as possible. Heartwarming to wake up to a story in The Telegraph about Mark — one of thousands of people whose lives Cera is turning around through our Coalition to get Britain Back to Work. Not only does Mark look much better in the Cera t-shirt than I do (!), but as an employer nothing could be more rewarding than reading his quote: “The size of my smile. It was the width of the room. I was absolutely gobsmacked that a company could look past the disability and say, ‘He can still do the job’.” Cera’s Back to Work Coalition is about empowering the unemployed, not just with jobs for now, but with meaningful careers for life, along with career-boosting tech and digital skills. We’re determined to remove barriers facing the unemployed, from offering discounted driving lessons to eBike schemes, health assessments to menopause care, ‘returnship’ schemes for new parents to resource groups for people caring for elderly parents. Thank you to Melissa Lawford at The Telegraph for covering Cera’s drive to get Britain Back to Work — demonstrated through Mark’s journey back into the workforce after 20 years unemployed. We’d love to hear about initiatives other companies have created to help get Britain Back to Work, tell us about yours in the comments 👇 Read more here: https://lnkd.in/dTbkfBV4 #BacktoWork #EconomicInactivity #Unemployment #Disability #DigitalSkills #JobSchemes

We recently introduced you to Mark, one of thousands of people Cera is helping back into employment through our innovative coalition to get Britain Back to Work. Mark was devastated to have to leave the workforce 20 years ago because of his disability. Now, he is flourishing as a care support worker at Cera, and has bold plans for his future career. Reading this story is a joy—especially Mark’s quote: “My life has taken a full turn and it is absolutely brilliant. The people I look after are so grateful. It is more rewarding than being paid.” Thank you to Melissa Lawford The Telegraph for shining a light on Mark’s incredible story, and Cera’s pioneering drive to get thousands of Brits Back to Work. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gzY9NTqb Thanks also to our coalition partners Maximus, who introduced us to Mark, Skills for Care, Beam, People Plus, Inc and many more! 💜 #BacktoWork #EconomicInactivity #Unemployment #Disability #DigitalSkills #JobSchemes

To complete our #First100Days campaign for Health and Social Care under a new UK Government - let’s take a look back at our fifth recommendation: calling for a Responsible AI Taskforce for Health and Social Care. In August, we called on the Government to grasp the opportunity that AI, digital and technology offer to transform health and social care - reducing the pressure on the NHS and saving and improving millions of lives. Our call was picked up by City AM: https://lnkd.in/ed26dKh9) As well as Daily Express: (https://lnkd.in/e328MQem). Since then, Labour has unveiled plans to take healthcare from analogue to digital, as one of three central pillars in its roadmap to NHS Reform. Digital is the movement of the last two decades - but AI is a whole new revolution, which could significantly reduce healthcare costs, improving staff productivity and engagement, freeing up hospital beds and saving and improving millions of lives. We urge the government to keep up the momentum in its journey towards a tech-and-AI-led healthcare system of the future.

Did you know? Menopause is forcing women to leave the workforce. At any given time, at least 60,000 women are out of work long-term sick because of menopause. This has a huge, lasting impact on women’s health, wellbeing and finances, damaging gender equality at home and at work. It also costs the economy £1.5 billion a year. As a large employer of almost 8,500 women, Cera is committed to supporting women at every stage of life. We are proud to have a negative gender pay gap of -3.9%, meaning women at Cera on average earn more than men. 84% of our staff are women, and 50% of our management team are women. 🌸 Cera is also a member of the Menopause Friendly Association, offering enhanced care, resources, flexibility and support for women going through menopause. And we want to do everything we can to stop menopause from harming our employees’ careers. How are we doing this? 🚀 Last week, on World Menopause Day, we launched Cera Women: an employee resource group dedicated to empowering women with financial autonomy, equal career opportunities, peer support and expert guidance throughout their careers, including during menopause. 🚀 Our newly updated menopause policy encourages staff to communicate with their manager if they’re struggling with symptoms, and have the option to make adjustments to their working arrangements. 🚀 We also rolled out our Menopause Champions Programme, offering training and support to help our workforce better understand menopause and how to support colleagues experiencing it. 💪 An incredible number of employees volunteered to become menopause champions, and here are a few reasons why they’re so passionate about this role! #WorldMenopauseDay #MenopauseFriendlyEmployer #WomenInHealth

💡 Did you know? Menopause impacts women for the rest of their lives—not just while they are going through it. 📊 Cera has built one of the world’s largest datasets on how people are ageing. To mark World Menopause Day, we’re sharing some eye-opening data on how menopause causes women to age differently from men. Certain health conditions disproportionately affect women after menopause. Just two of these are osteoarthritis and osteoporosis, which are both linked to an increased risk of falling. Our data shows: ▶️ Over 72% of our patients with osteoarthritis are women. ▶️ More than 80% of our patients living with osteoporosis are women. ▶️ Falls disproportionately affect women: almost two-thirds of over-65s who experience a fall are women. ▶️ People with osteoporosis or osteoarthritis are more likely to experience long-term complications or even death after a fall. At Cera, we’re harnessing preventative tech and AI to improve how women age. Our Falls Prevention AI uses advanced algorithms to predict 83% of falls before they happen, reducing falls by at least 25%. We’re also using technology to advance healthcare research for over-65s. Reducing the health inequalities women face during menopause and beyond is an important part of this. Stay tuned over the next week as we share more about how we’re supporting both our patients and workforce through Menopause and ageing. 🌸 #WorldMenopauseDay #AI #FallsPrevention #MenopauseAwareness
