It is with regret that we announce the decision to pause the Net Zero Taunton initiative for the time being. Despite an encouraging initial response from both the local council and businesses, we have unfortunately been unable to sustain the momentum required to drive meaningful progress. To build the traction necessary, we needed a continuous influx of new ideas, businesses, and support—elements that did not fully materialise. We are deeply grateful to Bethan Turner from the Chamber of Commerce Taunton, whose unwavering support and passion were invaluable from day one. Her guidance, commitment, and organisation of meetings were instrumental, and without her, Net Zero Taunton would not have even taken shape. Our thanks also go to everyone who participated, from inspiring speakers to engaged attendees. We hope that, in some small way, this initiative has helped spark the journey towards sustainability for businesses in Taunton. Taunton Chamber Member Frameworx Picture Framers is proudly celebrating 25 years of creative business in Taunton. >>https://lnkd.in/eGXTyhgU The workshop and gallery have developed over the years with advancements in best practice, industry improvements and changing trends. The business is run by Dustyn and Tracey who both have previous framing experience working for Harrison Picture Frames. When the owner decided to close the business in 1999 after following a career change they saw an opportunity to take it on as their own, understanding that a skill set and experience could be lost to the area. Although not planned and not good timing with their first child just leaving Musgrove Park Special Care they decided it was better to try and fail than live with the what if . Funds were low so it was a big financial gamble to purchase the equipment and materials required to set up Frameworx. 25 years later and with a rough calculation of over 40,000 frames made on site they are still operating in Yarde Place Taunton. Framing all types of art, photos, embroidery, memorabilia and anything else that the good people of Taunton, the surrounding areas of Somerset and occasionally further beyond present for a framing consultation. The uniqueness of a piece of work sometimes requires those years of gained experience in order to achieve a perfect finish. Every frame, mount and sheet of glass is measured, cut and put together in the workshop taking due care, time and attention to each and every piece that is completed ensuring a continuing high standard. They both enjoy the work and the challenges that running a small independent business brings, it has become more a way of life, a vocation, than a standard 9-5 job. Dustyn and Tracey would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to all those who have used Frameworx services over the years. We really appreciate our clients as we would not be still here without them, it always gives us great pleasure to see a fantastic finished piece and the reaction of the client when they see it on collection.

Membership and Events Manager Bethan had a great meeting with Tim Church at SWS HQ at Creech Castle Business Centre where Tim detailed a number of site security and visibility updates, as well as some new features on offer to enhance the usability of the website.
