We've just released the latest findings from our ongoing research into how charities are navigating sustained economic and social challenges. We surveyed 784 charity leaders to understand the real-world pressures they face: ➡️ 86% of charities report a rise in demand, with almost all expecting this to continue ➡️ Over 25% aren’t confident they can meet future demand, especially those without diverse or predictable funding ➡️ Charity leaders are spending 75% of their time firefighting day-to-day challenges CAF’s Head of Impact and Advisory, Ashling Cashmore, emphasises the need for collective action: "We need to work together to create a stable environment for our hard-working charities and those they support. The new Government has said it wants to reset its relationship with civil society and an important next step would be to introduce a national strategy for philanthropy and charitable giving to make sure charities receive the support they desperately need.” Explore the full findings from this release: https://lnkd.in/eZuV6s4A #CharityResilience #Charities #CharitySupport

Saving lives and supporting emergency services across 5,000 km² of Northumbrian countryside is no small task ⛰️ But it's what the dedicated volunteers of the Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team (NNPMRT) do - rain or shine, 24/7. To support their long-term financial stability and ensure they can continue to provide life-saving services and training for years to come, NNPMRT have invested in IFSL CAF ESG Funds. As Iain Nixon, Team Leader, explains, "Financial security is paramount in ensuring we can support the public and our colleagues in other emergency services. Working with CAF gives us that security." Iain Smith, CAF Bank's Relationship Director, adds, "ESG funds help charities achieve financial returns while making a positive impact. It’s fantastic to see NNPMRT incorporate this into their long-term strategy." Despite a 49% increase in FTSE 100 profits since 2014, corporate donations have dropped by 13%. This is a real-term decline of 34%. Had donations kept pace with profits, charities could have received an estimated £3.13 billion in 2023, compared to the £1.82 billion actually given. This growing gap between profit and donations highlights a crucial opportunity for businesses to do more. Aligning profit with purpose is not just the right thing to do, it’s smart business. It fosters a thriving civil society, builds trust with consumers, boosts employees engagement, and leaves a lasting impact. Want to learn how businesses can bridge this gap?
