While preparing for the International Arts and Antiquities Security Forum event in October, it reminded me of one of the more unusual projects that we had worked on a few years ago. The Manchester Museum is classed as a Grade II listed building and has particular historic and architectural value, but the new gallery extension that was being built posed it's own 'old meets new' challenges. The security needed to be increased to Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) Standard LPS 1175 SR3 level to house the new exhibition area, without damaging the structure of the older building.
