CASE STUDY: The J Pipes and Production Riser Pipes, to be used as part of a large offshore structure, required to be coated before being put into service. Chemco International’s Employee-Owners are supporting fantastic local Charity Chris's House with a month of fundraising activities in August 2024. Chris’s House is a Centre of Help, Response and Intervention Surrounding Suicide and has been set up to offer a safe environment where people in crisis may have a respite from their current unwellness by finding refuge in Chris’s House. Fundraising activities include a team cycle from Glasgow to Loch Lomond, a team Munro hill climb, a bake sale at work and a charity raffle. We would appreciate any contributions from the wider Chemco family towards reaching our target of raising at least £3,000 for Chris's House.

Chemco International Ltd. is delighted to announce today the latest stage in its expansion programme - a dedicated Global Distribution Centre, based in a newly acquired 1,000m M2 (>10,500 FT2) neighbouring warehouse. Managing Director Colin Wade has stated – “Sales of Chemco’s environmentally responsible, high performance protective coatings are now three times the level they were prior to the Company entering Employee-Ownership a little over five years ago. We anticipate customer demand to increase further, under the direction of our Commercial Director Ian Gold, alongside his team. Space had become a significant constraint to maintaining short lead times for our customers and so this expansion, Phase 3 in the Company’s Strategic Plan, whilst under consideration for some time, had to be brought forward. The new Distribution Centre enables the Company to dedicate its main site exclusively to the manufacture and design of advanced, solvent-free protective coatings. This allows the Company to ramp up production further and maintain safety stocks of finished goods at considerably higher levels than previously. Significant investment in an additional Mixing Room will follow. The Company’s success is unquestionably due to the dedication and close cooperation of its Company-wide team of Employee-Owners, who are responsible for the design, development, manufacture and sale of protective coatings for the most demanding applications and who collectively benefit from the Company’s success through Employee Ownership Trust benefits, such as gifted shares, dividends and tax-free bonuses. The Company celebrates this achievement with a Summer Barbecue today, National Employee-Ownership Day. And as on previous occasions, thanks for a fabulous meal goes to our Technical Director Masoud Goodarzi a.k.a. The Chef and to Ali Kalantar, his able Sous-Chef. CASE STUDY Chemco v The Competition: Ballast Tank Refurbishment The ballast tanks onboard a large crude oil tanker were showing considerable wear & tear damage in the form of corrosion. For the repair job, Chemco’s solvent-free, wet and rust tolerant epoxy coating RS 500P was specified and applied in the vast majority of the tank surfaces. In exceptional circumstances, certain additional areas of the ballast tanks had to be coated in a conventional, solvent-based paint from a different coating manufacturer.
