Inspiring Lives, Changing Futures
About us
We passionately believe that every child and young person has the right to achieve their full potential, whatever their background or circumstances - and, as a result, we work with over 6000 children, young people and families in the North West of England every year. We work in the heart of communities – often in partnership with other organisations - to end family cycles of deprivation, drug and alcohol abuse, lack of self-esteem, youth crime, teenage pregnancies and broken families. As a result, we help to strengthen individuals, families and communities so that children and young people can lead healthy and meaningful lives, with the opportunity to succeed in school, to grow up to enjoy healthy relationships, to have access to training and employment opportunities and to be successful in the world of work.

A group of our young people have helped restore a garden area back to its original beauty 💪👏 Locally based Bangor Street Community Centre, sent out an appeal for help to sustain their centre for the betterment of the wider community. Our Statutory Reparation service partnered by Blackburn with Darwen Youth Justice Service; working alongside communities, police and young people to break the cycle between adversity and anti-social behaviour. They answered the call and worked to restore the centre’s garden area by jet washing the entrance, painting the disabled walkway and stepping forward to continue their support by painting some of the indoor community rooms. Upon completion of this indoor restoration work, the local community will be able to use the spaces for both educational and wellbeing purposes. The centre is managed by BANGOR STREET LIMITED a non-profit company who look to promote the cultural and educational development of young people; including their physical education through sporting activities. The centre is proud to play host to a number of Lancashire’s most active community organisations. Read more 👀 https://rb.gy/cfkpp4

Celebrating 15 years of Trevor with TeamCANW 🎊💛 Trevor is a fantastic representative of CANW and is well liked and respected both internally and externally 🫶 He is passionate about the work he does with young people out in the community and has changed the lives of so many he has supported with skills they will have for a lifetime. "Trev has given me hope that I can change my future for the better and it has raised my self-esteem and placed me in a better position. I’m now in full time employment and have a steady relationship with my girlfriend and this would not have been possible without this support, thank you." - LS "If it wasn’t for Trev’s persistence there’s no way I’d have finished this rep. He’s a top bloke who doesn’t judge anyone and always offers sound advice." - BS "Trev’s a sound fella and has supported us through our rep, as brothers we can be a handful, but Trev never seems to get upset with us even when we prank about. He’s shown us new skills that can help us find a job in future and we all ended up with a certificate of achievement for our efforts." - TM, BM, PM "What can I say, Trev is a great bloke to work with who always asks if I’m ok and listens to me and advises me what to do. Trev’s a great motivator and he doesn’t just expect me to do all the work, he leads by example and gets stuck in as well." - CD
