About us

Chilly’s was founded in 2010 by James Butterfield and Tim Bouscarle, with the aim of providing people with the ability to always have cold water on-the-go, without having to buy single-use plastic water bottles. The result was the Chilly’s Bottle. A modern and stylish product designed to combine the convenience of a plastic water bottle, with the high performance technology and eco-friendly benefits of a traditional flask. In pursuit of our mission we have now expanded the range to include a wider selection of reusable products with many more exciting products in development!

    Hey, LinkedIn! Welcome to our c̶r̶i̶b̶ new office: Chilly's Studio This morning we're celebrating our move to our new home. We've traded the hustle and bustle of Shoreditch for the canals of Islington.  We welcomed the team with a delish breakfast and introduced them to our co-tenants (2 Egyptian geese we've nicknamed Chappell and Roan) A huge shoutout to our People Team and volunteers for getting us up and running 💪

    Everyone knows someone that never stops talking about Glastonbury (hi, that’s us 👋) So, if you’ll indulge us, we’d love to share with you our Glastonbury 2024 wrapped. This year we were thrilled to return to Worthy Farm as the Official Refill Partner. We stepped up our offering this time: bringing a 2nd stand and 5 more Sipple Hydration Stations to offer more ice cold refills throughout the festival. Back for another year, Blank Walls were customising bottles live on site with @dickydoesdrawing. And throughout the 5 days our machines did a total of 27,683 refills. It’s always sad when it’s over but we’re already gearing up for next year. Watch this space.

    When we first met with gomi we knew there was potential to make something special together. This power bank made with material from our recycled cup lids and powered by repurposed ebike batteries is a first for us and we couldn't be more excited. With only a few units left from the first drop, it's been great to see the response to this collaboration.

    What do you do with your old coffee cup lids? ♻ See gomi's latest collaboration with Chilly's, where we craft waste coffee cup lids into a limited edition collection of power banks. They come in a couple of colourways, influenced by the colours of the waste lids we had to work with. Limited quantities available via the Chilly's site. If you're lucky enough to be at Glastonbury and need a phone charged (unlikely you'll be on LinkedIn), you might find a few at the Chilly's stand ⚡

    It’s World Refill Day! 🌍 A global public awareness campaign which encourages individuals, businesses, and organisations alike to promote reuse rather than single use. This year we collaborated with One Minute Briefs on X and challenged talented creatives to make a poster that reminded people to ditch the plastic and fill up their reusable Chilly’s.     We turned decommissioned life rafts into bags. Here’s how we did it. The Chilly's x RÆBURN collaboration was born out of a shared vision between two London-based brands. Both brands are rooted in innovation, intelligent design and responsibility. Together, utilising our specialities, we have crafted a functional 2 in 1 bottle bag design system centred around the transportation of reusable water bottles which comes complete with a packaway sling bag. In 2024 we return with our second collection together to celebrate RÆBURN’s 15th anniversary featuring a black-out update on our first collection’s bag, as well as a highly limited edition handmade in London RÆMADE bag, with only 30 pieces available worldwide, made from striking repurposed Royal Air Force RAFT materials.   At Chilly’s and RÆBURN we’re committed to the details so we made sure not to leave anything out when designing our Bottle Bags: Product compatibility: The bags are crafted to perfectly house our Series 2 bottles as well as accommodate other Chilly’s products 2 in 1: a packaway bag which nests perfectly in the lower zip compartment is always available for you to switch to at any moment equally acting as its own individual product. Fine tuning: the Chilly's x RÆBURN bottle bag comes complete with reflective trim, fluoro lined front zip compartment, and elasticated inner key pocket.     What would you do for a Glastonbury ticket? Would you leave your office in the middle of the day? Would you run through the streets of London? Would you almost knock one of the Chilly's team off his feet? Maybe like this group yesterday the answer is D: all of the above. Last year we became known for our Glastonbury giveaway and this year we wanted to flip it on its head and do something really fun. So we decided to give people 24 hours notice to meet us at a specific location where they would complete a mystery task in order to get their hands on our final 6 tickets. I guess you could say they were up for the challenge.

    Introducing 90% Recycled Steel At Chilly’s we are constantly trying to improve and innovate our products. And our 90% Recycled Stainless Steel products are the next step in our product and material innovation. We are excited to announce the launch of our 90% Recycled Stainless Steel products. Made from post-consumer verified recycled stainless steel and available in 3 sizes of our Series 2 bottle. We aren’t stopping there. As part of our Responsibility Strategy, our target is to create all newly designed products using recycled steel from 2024 and this is the first step towards achieving this. Changing to recycled stainless steel will help to reduce our reliance on virgin (newly created) materials, utilise waste and reduce our products carbon footprint.
